A girl just asked a question re: abortion and taking the pill. As a furtherance of that, I am just wondering if it is a sin to take the morning-after pill. Is this murder in the sense that abortion by a doctor is a sin? Please explain. Thanks.

with spreading their disease within their own families? Why must states like Georgia corrupt young minds with their disease in a public school setting?

Surely one knows where to find religion. There's no need to spread the disease at taxpayer expense.

I was raised as a Christian. My mom is very religious, and my dad believes that "God has to exist, just look around." I am 23 and am questioning everything in terms of religion. I feel this is normal and that I am being honest with myself, but my mom is praying everyday that there will be a breakthrough, that I have turned my back on God, and that I am in denial of the "truth" that I was raised with. She thinks I am just like she was in college and that I will one day come back to the Lord. I feel so much pressure from her to be what she wants me to be. I love her so much but knowing that she is saddened by and disappointed in me is eating me alive. I haven't felt this conflicted in years. I've tried telling her how I feel about it via email, but she didn't respond to it. Talking to her won't work because I will probably get emotional and then she won't take me seriously. Who knew being honest with yourself has so many consequences. I know theres no easy solution. But what should I do?

In comparison to your life before dependence on God, and after becoming saved, when did you first notice the Gift of Joy provided by the Lord? We can not avoid the stresses of life, but with this joy from Holy Spirit, it will not weaken or cause a feeling of being overwhelmed. Can you remember when you noticed this change?

Because TECHNICALLY, the Christian Europeans stole it from the Native Americans. They decimated the Native American population and enslaved many of the tribes and eventually kicked them out. The Europeans originally had a contract with the Natives, but they brutally broke it.

Even the Bible says that stealing is a crime....

Is not the "Our Father." the main prayer we are supposed to say because it gives our states our *submission unto God..as in "thy will be done on Earth as it is unto Heaven". I am interested in hearing the prayers you as a Christian say even if it is is the same or different than the "Our Father." in which Jesus in the New Testament told us how to pray.

Of course your a good christian and all, but your ALSO a american.

Surely you see the danger in teaching the bible (even as just a literary work) in public schools while ignoring other influential religous works like the Qur'an.

I dont see how any american can see this as a good thing. Suppose your childs teacher was a atheist and was teaching your kids things about the bible that you dont agree with and dont want your kids to hear?

Isnt the only way to ensure your child gets the religious instruction you want is be there with them every step of the way (ie, church, bible study, etc)

...I eat meat tomorrow!

I guess I might as well just go around killing people and stealing because, who cares right? Eating meat on a Friday during lent means I'm goin to hell anyway right? (heavy sarcasm) <-- parentheses for my peeps in Kansas who don't know what sarcasm is.

How retarded are the people that go through this ritual every year?

I mean, is God responsible for every single birth that occurs, or did God just create the first humans and we are responsible from there on out. I realize, before someone says it, that you can't get pregnant if you don't have sex (besides in vitro and such). I mean, does he have a say in whether a couple is able to get pregnant; does he decide if each conception will or will not occur? Thanks.

"As to our paying honor to the memory of the martyrs, and the accusation of Faustus, that we worship them instead of idols, I should not care to answer such a charge, were it not for the sake of showing how Faustus, in his desire to cast reproach on us, has overstepped the Manichaean inventions, and has fallen heedlessly into a popular notion found in Pagan poetry, although he is so anxious to be distinguished from the Pagans. For in saying that we have turned the idols into martyrs, be speaks of our worshipping them with similar rites, and appeasing the shades of the departed with wine and food…It is true that Christians pay religious honor to the memory of the martyrs, both to excite us to imitate them and to obtain a share in their merits, and the assistance of their prayers. But we build altars not to any martyr, but to the God of martyrs, although it is to the memory of the martyrs. No one officiating at the altar in the saints' burying-place ever says, We bring an offering to the
