Because TECHNICALLY, the Christian Europeans stole it from the Native Americans. They decimated the Native American population and enslaved many of the tribes and eventually kicked them out. The Europeans originally had a contract with the Natives, but they brutally broke it.

Even the Bible says that stealing is a crime....

They even force converted many of them. Which is why so many South Americans today are Catholic.

I don't believe 3 of you are native "indians".

Real Native Americans wouldn't call themselves "native indians"- it's politically incorrect

Man's inhumanity to man makes me incredibly sad. I think about the Native Americans and Blacks all of the time. I am thankful to be here. I get up and look around and I praise the Lord that I don't live in Iraq. One of the things that really upset me are the people who tell the foreigners that come here to go back where they came from. Don't they realize they would have to leave also? This is a borrowed land and we need to show the utmost respect to the people we stole it from. I do have some Cherokee and Mayan but not much so maybe I get to stay...lol...Mmm

Yeah that's true, I'm native AMERICAN Too The past is sad but true, so I ask you, before AMERICA what did Native Americans call themselves---Natives? We've ALL been fed **** sandwiches as immigrants, natives, slaves, indentured servants, we've ALL paid some price as TRUE AMERICANS, whatever HERITAGE we are, we all have the choice to move on and make a positive impression in our lives, OR stay mad about things that CAN'T be changed. By the way the True tribes that followed their hearts have still prospered. They're still living strong, Because like TRUE CHRISTI ANS Their God ALWAYS LED THEM THROUGH ALL THE TRAILS IN THEIR LIVES. The Bible also states alot about forgiveness and growing too, Good Luck in your ways in life.

Hey I am Native American and that fable about "Christian Europeans" has been floating around for a long time.
Please not another Anglo giving the Native sympathy or whatever.
I am Christian, and yes I do thank God for this lovely country and all of His lovely Creation, and whether it is called the USA or some other name it is still a beautiful country.

Ok...so..We all know our American history....
But what does that really have to do with us that were born hundreds of years later?
I am glad I was born in America I love my country.
What does being a Christian have to do with being patriotic anyway?
What about Atheists and Jews and Muslims that are American citizens and love their country?
I think your statement is biased against Christians and all patriotic Americans alive today.

I have no control over what happened hundreds of years ago, but I do thank God that I can in a country that was built around Him. A country that I can read my bible and attend church freely. Its such a shame that so many people are trying to kick God out of everything.

what gets me is current events and how the Bible is all coming out just like in Revelations! Wow i am so excited to see the US come in support of Israel...and sooner or late Russia (the Bear) will attack and boom boom boom..that's all for Russia..maybe the European community too? but Israel will all be standing..just as long as the US keeps sending our aide to them...but bang bang bang to anyone who comes in this prophecy..its gonna be a real fireworks..but what do i know?

I thank God for America and all countries he has created, it is the sin of the world that has corrupted these nations. I do thank God he has given my my life to be even on earth. He has given my life and he has placed me in America and my God never makes mistakes only people do.

Manifest Destiny. Because "God" willed them to take the Native's land, and put our homes and businesses, etcetera, where they lived. Because they were "savage" and needed to be tamed. They murdered dozens of the ones who wouldn't go to the reservations. And anyway, I hate the Amercian way of life.

Your question seems more politcal to me and it seems like you're blaming Christians for the bad behavior of men in the past. This is similar to blacks blaming ALL whites for slavery...again, something that happened in the past. We should all be learning from our history to improve our futures.

To answer your question, no, I don't thank God for America, but I do thank Him for my life and that I live in a country that allows many more freedoms than many other countries.
