The symbol for American Atheists looks like an atom, with the letter A where the nucleus would be and one little dot on one of the electron paths. Soldiers in the US Armed Forces who list their religious preference as Atheist can have that engraved on their grave markers in military graveyards. Darwinists, who aren't necessarily atheists, use the Jesus fish with little feet on it. Link in sources has the American Atheists symbol as well as some others that are for similar groups of people or suggestions by atheist communities.

OK, that dude that said 666....that's Satanism. That would be like saying all Muslims and Jews have 666 as their symbol. That's why Bible Thumpers start the most wars.

There is no true symbol for atheism, because it is a philosophy, not a religion. If you don't believe in something, there is technically no symbol for it. There are a few people trying ot make a symbol, but the atom doesn't really fit a point of view for an agnostic that believes something is out there. We know science exists, but I would not idolize an atom.

Therefore, there can't truly be a symbol, or all philosophys would have to have a symbol.

No, because atheism and agnosticism are philosophical positions or views, not religions. There is no symbol for atheism and agnosticism for the same reason that there is no symbol for disbelief in leprechauns.

There are some people who have proposed icons for them, however, which have seen only limited acceptance. For example, in the U.S. the atom is commonly used as a symbol for atheism. This is meant to symbolize most atheist's greater reliance on science. However, this doesn't hold true for all atheists.

Atheism is not a religion, but a non-belief, so associated symbolism makes no sense, but you could probably get close with this...

Every organization uses a different one, here is some info on atheist symbols:

I use butterflies on my site, to symbolize transformation into something free and beautiful

We also use the orange stars/orbs that appear on the banner at the bottom of the page, because they are warm, bright, and bold.

Not in general no.... well, I don't..... some may....

If I were forced to have one by the LEAF (Logo Enforcement Agencies' Federation), I think I'd go for a penguin drinking a beer... either that or a double helix...the atom sounds good as well.

It is the symbol of an atom on veterans graves... you know, the circles around the nucleus... when they are atheists.

Why would they have a symbol? Atheism is the lack of belief in a god/gods, and not some kind of organization.

The closest thing would be the Darwin fish.

It's a spoof on the Christian fish

It's little legs are cute... but it raises the ire of some people.
