The cross was nothing more than a device used by the Romans (and other ruling nations) to cause great pain and eventually death, a form of torture. The cross was NOT used exclusively on Jesus, it had been used for hundreds of years before Christ came to earth on a multitude of people.
Anyone who believes that there is power 'in the cross' is ignorant and naive. There is NO power in the cross, the power is completely Christ's blood that was shed for all, nothing else and no one else has any power whatsoever.
The 'Christian experience' is centered around the death, burial and Resurrection of Jesus.
Note: Without Jesus raising himself from the grave, His death would have been meaningless. It is the new life that Jesus gives us that is everything. That is what it means to be 'born again'.

Yes. All of Christianity hinges on the redemptive act of the cross and the subsequent resurrection. If it were not for both acts of salvation, Christianity would not have a leg to stand on, and there would be no salvation in the world. However, because of both the death and resurrection of Jesus, there is hope and salvation for the world.

No. The whole Christian experience is centered around the incarnation, death and resurrection of Christ, and our participation in the Christian sacraments.

It should be.

If so inclined, a very good book that I have been reading is entitled,"The Cross Centered Life-Keeping the Cross the Main thing", authored by C.J.Mahaney.

For me the center of Christianity is the Resurrection.
If he never rose from the dead he would've been just another yahoo now wouldn't he?

No, but it does involve Jesus dying on the cross a lot because without Him, we'd all be going to Hell.

The cross was the method of His execution, for me, the center is the RISEN CHRIST, that is the victory, and that is what I focus on as my foundation.

No, though the cross figures significantly. I would agree with the previous answer that it's Christ.
