I'm so ashamed...there are days when I question my faith, or don't want to go to church, or forget pray, and doubt my salvation. I talk to God as often as I can, but I feel so guilty....I really love the Lord, but i feel so...lost

There are two things that we can feel that may seem to be the same, they are guilt and condemnation. Guilt can be a good thing, for example, you hurt that person, ask forgiveness. Condemnation on the other hand, says, you hurt that person, you aren't worth a darn, you are a horrible person.

Guilt should lead us to repentance, and restoring our relationship with God.

I had to have my understanding of God expanded- I had to come to a place where I could understand that God was my Father, my Daddy, and He is a GOOD Daddy, a loving Daddy. My own experience of abuse and pain at a stepfather's hands left me feeling like I could never please God, that He was always just waiting for an excuse to beat me down. So ask yourself, how is your relationship with your parents? The way that you feel about your parents will reflect your feeling about God.

Know that God loves you, that He desires the best for you, and that He loves you regardless of your performance. He awaits with open arms to ebrace you, His beloved child, His child that brings Him delight. Did you know that? God delights in you? You are precious to Him, and He delights in his children. God delights in you.

Sounds to me like your human. Everyone goes through periods like this. If your talking to God you have no reason to feel guilty. Prayer doesn't have to be ritual, if you just talk to God during the day your spending time with Him. I'll admit I have times when I don't want to go to church either. Those are usually the times when I learn something I really need to know so I push myself to go. I don't feel guilty over the feeling. Sometimes it's just because I'm tired or drained from some event I've had to deal with.

It's also possible your judging yourself too harshly. Don't compare yourself to someone else. Understand your accepted and loved by God just as you are. Your doing just fine. God love you more than you can even imagine.

Join the club sister....we all feel unworthy of Gods love, we are sinners and we all deserve hell. The mistake is that we sometimes dwell on this fact too long, instead, thank God and praise Him, because He loves us so much that He accepts us just the way we are. Sometimes I feel guilty and I have come to learn that when I feel this way, I stop whatever I'm doing and I get on my knees and pray about it. Afterwards the feeling is gone (Usually) and I can continue whatever I was doing. Don't let our accuser mock you or your faith.
You asked Christ Jesus into your life and your heart and that means you will spend eternity with Him.
Stop feeling guilty and start thanking God for all the wonderful blessings in your life.
God Bless You....Peace.

Well jackspar what to say! This is one of the hardest times to be a Christian that the world will ever know. Their are more distractions than stars in heaven it seems. Don't let the media stars distract you either.

The Lord is the greatest comfort so here are some things I want you to try.

First off, I want you to know that God does not ever make a mistake. His committment is better than yours for He has promised to never leave you or forsake you.

1. After you are fully awake in the morning and before any interruptions read at least two Psalms in the Book of Psalms. Before you read ask the Lord to speak to you through His word. Also ask Him to place His word in your heart as you read.

2. After reading in the Psalms read a chapter of the words of Jesus in a red letter edition. Read a little every day without fail. Read all these versus from the poetry of the old King James version.

Don't let anything distract you from your short prayer and reading in the morning. Things may distract later in the day and when you miss a day or two you begin to feel guilty and less able to find time.

3. During the day prayer for other people as well as things that involve you. There was a book writen once on 'shooting prayers'. You can pray to yourself in tight quarters or often softly out loud. I may see somebody near me in a store or on a bus or walking down the street. I may look toward them and say softly --- "Lord give this person a special blessing today. Make them aware of your presence and glory. Friend the Lord Jesus Christ loves you." You may be surprised at some of the things that happen when you start doing this.

If nobody is around I will shoot at a dog or cat or birds in the air. Become aware of what is going on and pray to that. If you see an old dog that is maybe hurting, pray the Lord will touch his body. If someone is in a conflict you can shoot a prayer for peace to that siutation.. Always send them the best that comes to your heart. You can shoot prayers and you will suddently find plenty of time to pray. If at all possible I say these aloud without disturbing people around me. If not I still shoot a mental prayer. Don't neglect to pray quietly over your lunch at school. You have the time and there is no law against it.

4. Finally little sister faith is not belief in your head. Faith is trust in your heart. Faith is trust in a loving God who stays closer to us than friends or family, who rewards those who make a good effort to seek Him, Faith is trust in a loving God who, though Christ, nailed all our sins to the cross and remembers them no more.

Dress modest, stay pure, pray for a young man one day who will love you as Christ loved His church and gave Himself for it. Trust Him for the desires of your heart. You won't be disappointed. "I will never leave you nor forsake you." Take that from His word for your promise.. .

It feels like God isn't there, huh? and everything's hopeless...

It's good to question, go ahead, in the end you'll only come out stronger and renewed. That time may seem like a million years away, but trust me, it's not that far away.

Neither is it instant. Know what?

God loves it, he really loves it when you pick yourself up and determine to try again when you fall down.

Ever heard of 'At the Cross' by Hillsong? Check it out! It's during times like these that this song gives me comfort.

I think most everyone feels that way at times. Satan is the one who tries to make you feel guilty and doubt your faith. Try to wake up a few minutes early and spend your first 10 minutes praying and reading your Bible. When life gets hectic, try to step away and center yourself in prayer.

The thing isn't "I don't feel spiritually connected to God, what should I do?" its " Why am I not spiritually connected with God?". If you truly don't believe in god, change religion. You may be going through either a phase or may just feel, disconnected with the church world. Maybe deep down you aren't suited for that religion, that's how it started when I changed mine.

Hello! So you've received Jesus as your Personal Savior, but you're going through trying times? You are not alone friend! There are and always will be things to try our faith, test us even severely, but in those times we must look to God our Heavenly Father who loves us. Amen friend, keep doing to God. He is your Father, and He wants DIALOG with you... that is you talk to Him and then you listen to hear Him. The devil doesn't want you to continue in your faith. The Word says if we've committed and we ask Him for forgiveness... He is FAITHFUL and JUST to forgive and cleanse of all sin/wrong. Keep going to the house of the Lord, worship God and let your heart rise as you sing friend. As long as you live, you will have failings and sin... but the thing to remember is to NOT give up but to keep going! In persevering and holding on, you are working through it and it'll let the devil know you're still holding on. Read God's word. I'd recommend you start reading the gospel of John, then read the epistles of Paul. Read Psalm 139 and see how David poured out his heart to God. Go to www.blueletterbible.com to read this online. Don't stop, but keep going... and find a church that preaches God's word and will reach out to you. Listen to God's moving for which church to join. Bloom where God would have you, and you'll grow. May God bless and help you dear one. Take care.

Beliving has nothing I repeat nothing to do with going to church. Also don't thick of God as a bad guy waiting to zap you when you step out of line. God is your father, your true father and He created your soul because He wanted someone just like you. YoU are created in His image, and He has feelings just like we do. he is not unapprochable. Prayer is simply talking with God. You know He is your closest kin. It makes His day when you tell Him father I love you, wish I could of done better, and He understands, forgives and heals and helps. Tell Him you love Him today. I you take that step He'll walk a mile to meet you.
