I mean, there's no proof that God even exists! So, how can we truely say that we're "one nation under God" ??? That just makes us, as a country, sound ignorant.

Do you think that people who purposely live a sinful life can still go to heaven if they ask for forgiveness in the last seconds of their life? Even though they knew that their lives were sinful? I already know the answer, I just want to hear what you think.

This is not my opinion, but I'm interested in what you think. I wonder what kind of a movement there might be to get rid of religion. Would it matter to you if religion was banned?

...and thus he can see if we have been truly good or truly bad. Some Christians might still be sent to Hell because they were really bad even though they believed in God, yet you notice that the vice-versa can't be true? What I'm saying is why can't an Atheist who has lived by the morals of the church his whole life but simply doesn't believe in God be sent to Heaven? As a great man once said:

"And if there were a God, I think it very unlikely that He would have such an uneasy vanity as to be offended by those who doubt His existence."

A monk asked, “The mountains, the rivers, and the great earth-from where did all of these things come forth?”

Tiantai said, “From where did this question come forth?”

I have currently been searching for answers to the question, is everything preordained or does God give us freewill. But, if I believe in theory X, and am wrong, but still love and have a relationship with Christ, does it matter?

Have any of you ever looked at the financial statements from your diocese? Take the Episcopal Diocese of New York, for example, year end financial statement as at December 31, 2005.
Total assets of $44,919,936
Total liabilities of $2,050,622
The assets include investments of $29,531,631
Gross Revenue: $13,456,220
Net Revenue: $1,839,316 (after all programs and expenses)

Does that not appear to be rather large? And that is only for one diocese, imagine putting them all together.
