My friend's mother-in-law use to place a name in a certain scripture in the bible when we had a new romantic interest. I can't remember what book in the bible it was. Does anyone know. Once the name was placed in the bible, you would pray and it if the person was meant to be either the prayer would help you to see if he should stay or leave.

Does every faith claim to be THE only true path?
If all faiths said that they were one way, but not the only way, would religious wars (of all kinds) decrease?

Spousal abuse is a wide spectrum of abuse types. This includes physical abuse, sexual abuse, emotional abuse, economic abuse, financial abuse, passive abuse, and spiritual abuse. [1] Spouses can also be abused by their children.

It should be pointed out that a misunderstanding of the family abuse issue is so pervasive, male verses female, or the focus on violence statistics only, that city and county governments, the courts, law enforcement, prosecutorÌs offices, mental health clinics, and other tax supported agencies[2] are more about gender politics than reality.

"Most reported cases of spousal abuse involve violence by men against women. " This is the corruption, where we go from abuse, to violence and polarize the issue....why ?

I love God more than anything else in the world. I have much faith and I believe the bible is the Ultimate Authority and that we must witness to others. My whole point in saying this is because some of the Christians that I see are so close minded to anything at all. It is okay to open your minds and learn new things and expand your mind. We must. How can we effectively witness to others if we do not understand anything about them, because we have been so closed minded?

Apparently people have forgotten the true meaning of Christmas and Easter! Wanna take away Santa, Christman trees, and the Easter Bunny? Be my guest! In fact I would applaud you! Sense these false Idols have not a single meaning whatsoever! Santa was a human Jesus Christ was the son of God! Santa is not a savior! Jesus Christ is! Pine trees are good for landscaping and releasing some oxygen in the air but thats about it! Trees don't save souls. So if the ACLU or whoever wants to take away Christmas trees: They would only be doing me a favor! I don't know how other Christians feel about it. When the day comes that they will try to take away our Bibles and not allow us to attend church is the day they will have a serious fight on their hands! That is when I should be concerned. As for now this stuff about trees and other Idols does not phase me.

They teach that Jesus is not God (Jesus IS the Lord God Almighty).

They teach that Jesus did not die on a cross (He did).

They teach that Jesus is really Michael the Archangel (Jesus is God and not a created angel)

They reject the Holy Trinity. God IS Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

John 1:1 In [the] beginning the Word was, and the Word was with God, and the Word was a god.
According to the New World Translation Jesus is a God. Do you agree that Jesus is a God? Is Jesus a true God or a false God?

According to John 17:3 in the New World Translation(Jehovah's Witnesses Bible)
3 This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ.

What do you make of this?

This college has critisized Bob Jones for being too liberal.

At this college, men and women use differant stairwells and sidewalks, and you can be expelled for hugging someone.

No music, no movies (not even G rated), no tv, no internet.

Everything is regulated, and the athorities are always watching.

A student was quoted as saying "Not to put too fine a point on it, but there's a very 1984 feel to the place."

There are very wonderful passages and some that are very wicked (especially in the old testament) passages.

Christians: Is there a passage that meets this criteria: 1) It's Evil 2) It cannot be taken out of context 3) It could be taught in Church.

In other words. We Atheists find it odd that "Evil" passages are taken out of context while nicer passages, often in the same book, are never taken out of context.

Does God do wicked things or is every bad thing in the Bible actually a good thing written out of context?
