Through personal meditation I have found what I believe to be true. Because of the blessing of free will, everyone must decide for themselves what is their true path. Everyone has their own opinion, level of intelligence, need for questions to be answered fully, and (the biggest one) the need for physical proof or the lack thereof. Athiests rely on physical proof and complete understanding of this concrete evidence. Theists mentally place trust in something that isn't physically "real". (Ok, so I kinda snuck "faith" in there...but it's the division between the two.)
I said Theists because this applies to any religion, not just Christianity. There is absolutely no rock-solid proof of any religion. Sure, there are some archaelogical artifacts here and there, but every bit could be considered the work of man rather than God. Yet there are countless people (the majority of the population, in fact) that doesn't need that proof. They believe God has worked THROUGH man in order to accomplish His works.
Does the lack of proof make it any less real? In my mind, heart, and soul, the answer is a resounding NO. Am I going to try and convince you that your choice is wrong? Again, a resounding NO. That is a choice each of us must make. If you (and this applies to EVERYONE) ever feel your path is not right for you, look inside yourself for the answers. No person will give them to you. They can explain their particular religious system to a "t", but only you can decide what's right for you.
Blessings

I have FAITH in what THE BIBLE says about JESUS !
I hate it when y'all are so arrogant as to tell us how not to answer a question. I'll bet you are one of those who post questions just to provoke Christians so you can Violate them !

Here is some independent thought, The Universe is so Complex, Creation is so Complex, Man himself is so Complex that there is no way it is by accident ! There must be a Creator.
Have you ever considered the Symbiotic Relationship between some Insects and The Plants on which they Thrive, The way in which they Protect each other. Is it Chance ? It takes more faith to believe they Evolved this way, then that they were Created by an Intelligent Creator God.

With as big as the universe is, don't you think that there is life out there..? somewhere? and if there is life out there..is it not possible that we were created by this "alien", this powerful being, all knowing,..we can call God, the beginning and the end?
It just makes sense to me that a powerful life form, from space could in fact exist. and know far more then we could imagine. The universe is so so big and we'll never see the other side of it to prove it either way. We have all these questions, and when we die, we can ask God about space and time and why, and where did he come from.

Because there is so much precision involved for us to be able to survive.
1. On earth oxygen comprises 21% of the atmosphere. If oxygen were 25% fires would erupt spontaneously; if it were 15 percent human beings would suffocate.
2. If the atmosphere were less transparent, not enough solar radiation would reach the eath's surface. If it were more transparent we would be bombarded with far too much solar radiation down here.
3. If the moon-earth gravitational interaction were greater than it currently is, tidal effects on the oceans, atmosphere, and rotational period woudl be too severe. If it were less, orbital changes would cause climatic instabilities. In either event life on earth would be impossible.
4. If the Cabon Dioxide Level were higher than it is now, a runaway greenhouse effect would develop (we'd all burn up). If that level were lower than it is now, plants would not be able to maintain efficient photosynthesis (we'd all suffocate)
5. The gravitational pull coudln't be any different for life to exist here on earth. If the gravitational force were altered by 0.0000000000000000000000000000... percent our sun would not exist, and therefore, neither would we.
There are 122 of these points. Would you like me to continue?

Here's the deal. God has prepared a plan where we can develop faith if we are willing. He does not simply leave it up to chance whether we are willing to believe or not. He provided a helper, someone to testify of all truth. He provided the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost will testify to all sincere seekers of truth within their hearts in such a way that that person cannot deny the truth.

Well to start with, we all had to be put on this earth by someone or something. It wasn't just like "poof" and we were here. We all need a little something to believe in, and for some of us we like to put a face and a name to it. In these times when the world is going crazy it is nice to "think" that there is someone watching over you. I believe because I just know. That probably doesn't make much since. But I just know that there is something beyond this world. A little hope for us to look forward to when we die. If you don't believe in things, then that wouldn't make us human.

I believe in God because I have seen way too many things in my own life that are best explained by believing that God made them happen. I see the world around me and I just can't imagine that it was anything other than creation by God. I can't fathom that birth and the growing of a baby from a single egg is anything other than God...

I just always have as if I was born knowing. I am 23 and I can remember back as far as 3 yrs old and I just knew that God could hear me talking to him and that he could do anything so I used to pray for silly things like a flying horse to keep in my back yard. I just know but can't explain exactly why. I see little things like how he answers my prayers in little ways.

It boils down, to what we want, ultimately. Speaking for the Atheist side.
The greatest problem that exists for Catholics at the Pope level, is: you can legitimately have 2 people both equally proficient in theology, one can come to the conclusion there is a god, and the other can conclude there isn't. Why is that? Emotional choice from the start.
