First let me say this.. I hope it IS a hoax because I don't want anything bad to happen to anyone, but i had a hunch when i saw this video on foxnews.com (http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,250651,00.html#),
that it was all a hoax to promote their technologies...
Needless to say i felt more intrigued when i saw that they are asking for the publics help in finding the missing scientist:
I truely hope that nothing serious has befallen the guy and he's somewhere eating steak or something.
I mean, they have the technology to tell you how deep the snow is on top of a mountain without being there physically.

BTW, for those that believe in the rapture and the apocalypse... there is a reason why they would do this, which is why i put this in the religion category. Are you thinking what i am thinking?
Technology + Hunt....

My friend is encouraging me to read the book "Conversations with God" Did you get this out of it too-she say that "we are God." She says that God is in us, and therefore WE are God.

I believe that we should be like Jesus and do the right thing in life, but do not believe that WE are God. Is this what you think as well?

I was just wondering, people who were brought up religious, do you actually believe in your religion? And to what extent?

I just turned 16 and have been brought up Roman Catholic all my life. The thing is, I'm not really sure I believe in God at all... I know that sounds REALLY bad but it's true =[

I have other friends who are Catholic, and some who are Protestant or Jewish, and a lot of them have said the same to me, that they don't really believe a lot of the stuff they learn but they go along with it anyway, and they will bring their kids up that way because they feel they should.

Also, do you/did you ever go to a religious school? I go to a Catholic state-run school and I know a lot of (non-Catholic) adults who are saying it is a waste of the government's money to run faith schools. Do you feel like too much of your school time was spent on religion? At primary school we spent a lot of time learning about our religion and going to mass. So we missed out on a lot of other stuff

Do you also feel that these things, as well as other rituals that are of Asian descent are demon-controlled and of the devil?

I am a born-again christian and the Holy Spirit of God tells me (not in an audible voice of course) to stay away from these things....and that they are satanic in nature.

I'm hoping to hear from Christians on this but as always....all input is welcome.

Thanks

Whatever a Christian's view on gay marriage, alcohol etc all will agree that the ten commandments are pretty basic.

Quote mining is quoting an opponent accurately, but deliberately out of context so that people will take it that they meant what they didn't mean to say. For example someone (person A) may write "I know it looks like the evolution of the eye is absolutely impossible but it is very easy to see how it happened" and someone else may quote them as saying "the evolution of the eye is absolutely impossible". Person C would read what Person B had quoted and infer that Person A thought that the evolution of the eye was impossible - a completely wrong conclusion.

Has Person B, even though he was strictly accurate, "born false witness" against Person A?

The "blood libel" (with respect to the Jews) consists of the false claim that Jews murder non-Jews in order to obtain their blood for use in religious rituals. This allegation is still widely believed throughout the Muslim world.
It is my understanding that Orthodox Jews use the Koshering process involving the use of course salt to draw blood out of meat because they are NOT to consume blood hebraic law.
What then could be the origin of the libel?
Is it a misunderstanding stemming from the Christian ritual of drinking Christs blood during the Eucharest?
Do any modern religions use human blood in worship rituals.
