Do you also feel that these things, as well as other rituals that are of Asian descent are demon-controlled and of the devil?

I am a born-again christian and the Holy Spirit of God tells me (not in an audible voice of course) to stay away from these things....and that they are satanic in nature.

I'm hoping to hear from Christians on this but as always....all input is welcome.

Thanks

If so, then my mother (a licensed massage therapist) is a devil worshiper. It's weird because she attends church and prays every day. But because of her profession, which eases people's pain, she's going to hell. My grandmother, too, is a very religious woman. She was orphaned when her missionary parents were killed in China prior to WWII and spent the entire war starving in a Japanese concentration camp. She credits her survival solely on divine intervention...but because she sees an acupuncturist to help control the pain of her arthritis, I suppose she's just a devil-worshiper in disguise, too.

Seriously, if people would learn about things before saying that they're demon-controlled and of the devil, they could across looking less ignorant. There was a time when even western medicine was looked upon as evil. Lots of people died before religious people decided that it wasn't "of the devil." Before deciding that these things are evil based upon a feeling that may have been instilled by a preacher, do a little research first. A feeling is just a feeling. If you don't want to do yoga, have acupuncture or see a massage therapist, then don't. But don't go passing that judgment on those that choose to do these things.

Accupunture is an ancient chinese medical treatment. The West is beginning to see the value of accupuncture, and some specific uses of accupuncture is starting to be covered by medical insurance. What could possibly be demon-controlled about this? Medical knowledge is medical knowledge.

God is not so judgmental to deny things that come from Asian descent. Jesus said judge by the fruit - accupuncture heals...that would be good fruit.

Wow, racist *and* ignorant, all in one shot.

There is absolutely nothing spiritual in acupuncture; it is simply an ancient understanding of how the body works, and it helps some people.

Yoga also helps people, and guess what? There are Christians who practice it, and who try to put Christian spirituality into it.

What's really funny is, I'll bet you do things that were inspired by ancient European Pagans, like putting up a tree around the Winter Solstice and lighting a Yule log, without a second thought.

You are looking much too hard for Satan, which is tragically funny since you claim to be following Jesus.

Not hardly. Acupuncture--and allied methods of medical treatment--are simply the way different cultures' way of approaching the problem of treating the sik. And yoga is a physical and mental disciplin--it simply happens to be based on Hinduism.

The only people who are so ignorant as to think these things are "demonic" are the bigoted fringe elements that are little more than ccults in the west--peoplelike Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson, and other false Christians.

You need to stop allowing yourself to be misled by these fakes and to start learning and practicing the love and tolerance Christ actually taught--not the hate and lies these false prophets spew out as teey disgrace Christ's name on a daily basis.

Does the holy spirit also tell you not to educate yourself? Seriously, are you serious. Yoga and acupuncture have not one single thing to do with religion or god!! Yoga is a form of exercise. Acupuncture relieves pain by blocking nerve impulses (or something like that)
While we are on this kind of subject meditation has nothing to do with religion either. It is a method of mind and body RELAXATION.
Seriously get an education. This is the problem with religion. Did you know that the first step in controlling someone is to isolate them?

No.

If acupuncture, yoga, or chiropractics help you heal or maintain your health, why would you consider that demonic???

If I'm remembering correctly, your body is a temple and was given to you by God, right? So if care and maintenance of your physical church is not demonic, then why would caring for your body be any different?

Just because you use these methods it doesn't mean you have to espouse any of the "religious" aspects of them.
