What did they do or say that gave you a desire to follow Christ?

Revelation 21:8
But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

The first ones mentioned, the fearful, God-fearing, does that not make you fearful? It doesn't say what you fear, it just says fearful, no exceptions or exclusions

How come in my questions, and even other questions regarding catholic beliefs, there are no straight forward answers, with scripture backing it up. is it that there are no real catholics on this board? or is it because they just dont have any idea why they do what they do, and its purely tradition?

I'm not trying to say anything is wrong with Catholics at all. I have just noticed this question is answered with a lot of different opinions, but no one backs it up with scripture. Help?

There are a lot of scriptures that say we don't need anyone but Jesus to get to the Father.

When I say God I don't mean just the religious/personal sense of God I mean how can you straight face say that you are certain no being of a higher power exists?

And you suggest you are scientific and logical?

There is no absolute proof either way!

I mean, we almost always get mad when our expexctations aren't fulfilled, or when someone else attacks us or displeases us.

Since it is God's will for all things to happen and all beings to exist, isn't "getting mad" actually going against God's Plan?

In that case, Jesus was a big sinner when he got mad at the temple merchants, because God wanted them to be there.

The 1st Resurrection started when Jesus Christ raised from the dead and ends before His Millinium Reign (when those redeemed by His blood are resurrected). There is no threat of the 2nd death any more (for those redeemed).

The next Resurrection is at the Great White Throne Judgment, where everyone else of the dead stand before God; and all are judged according to their works. Thoses whose names aren't found in the books of life are thrown into the lake of fire, the 2nd death.

none of them EVER answer the question directly, they all beat around the bush,

and i have yet to see a valid verse to back up their practices of speaking with the dead. the bible even says this is wrong to do

sorry folks, mary is not on the earth, thus she is dead.
so is there any well professed catholics out there that can point out a verse or two about how its ok to A: speak with the dead, or B: pray to mary?

(note: mary is not the mother of god, god was before mary. also, why not ask marys mother to pray for us, she was holy enough to give birth to mary who was holy enough to give birth to jesus.....)

To be honest, I consider the Bible to be Holy and to be the truth. But I also understand that man has had some authority in altering some modicums of the 66 books from the Bible.

I must admit, I am a man who loves God intensely- but the story of Job truly perturbs me, if it is true!

Jesus was not speaking about greek hebrew etc. We know what Jesus said. What did Jesus mean???

JN 8:42 Jesus said to them, "If God were your Father, you would love me, for I came from God and now am here. I have not come on my own; but he sent me. 43 Why is my language not clear to you? Because you are unable to hear what I say. 44 You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father's desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. 45 Yet because I tell the truth, you do not believe me! 46 Can any of you prove me guilty of sin? If I am telling the truth, why don't you believe me? 47 He who belongs to God hears what God says. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God."

Jesus isn't going to give any reward for that.

Do you realize that rewards given to those redeemed by the blood of the lamb are works rooted in His Truth/Word & faith, hope & love?
