My cousin was married to someone that would never tell the truth, He still talks to her and tells these long stories, that are blatantly unture,Why do you think some people do that?

Because its how some people have always been, They tell lies to make themselves seem more interesting or to keep secrets from other people. But they get so deep into the lies that they don't even know what is the truth or lies anymore.
I have had the same thing where a person who I thought was a friend, invited me to visit them and use their spare room while I was traveling around than kicked me out but could never give me a straight answer as to why - and any answer they did give never made sense.
It sucks and its unfortunate that people are like that, and until they realize it themselves and try to make an effort to change, their lies will just get more extravagant and more involved until they don't even know the truth

Some people are attenton seekers and want people to notice em. But in ths case if your cuz is doing this then he is just exampling what she does because maybe he still wants to be with her. Habitual Liars are usually not happy and are looking for someone to make them happy. Or maybe to impress people by their fictional tales. There could many answers to your question.

Probably to get attention, one of my husbands friends lies alot to about stupid stuff, and my husband seems to think its because he didnt have anything when he was growing up and now he has to lie about stuff so people will like him or something. I know a couple people like that.
