What's the proper procedure to look like a wine expert? Both in choosing a wine, handling the wine, and drinking it?

Every time we have another couple over for dinner (or even just a glass of wine and chat), they always write to my husband to say "thanks", but not to me. Sometimes, they don't even mention me.
Do you think this is rude? Last weekend, we had a couple over to dinner -- I bought a rather expensive bottle of wine and some specialty items for appetizers (with my own funds); cleaned the house, etc. When the "thank you" note came, they praised HIS cooking and HIS "exquisite taste in wine" and hosting skills, as if I wasn't there at all!
Do you think people just assume that the male half does all of the work and the purchasing and cleaning, or am I missing something, or are these people just clueless?

Why do bitchy brothers and sisters fight after they all received equal inheritances? I mean if it was dispersed equally by Aunt Eula, why fight? Aunt Eula earned it, gave it away freely, so why?

Would like to know why Americans are so condesending & loud.
I got married 4 years ago in Barbados, we stayed in a very nice resort. There were mainly Americans and English there as well as a few Germans.
I noticed the Americans were SO loud, they sat around the tables with their meals, and were talking and laughing SOO LOUDLY.
Also i noticed the way they spoke to the Barbadians, while at the bar there was 1 American who needed a drink, he was there clicking his fingers for the barman to serve him.
I was cringing & felt so sorry for the barman.
I spoke to one of the Barbadians and she said this was typical behaviour of the Americans, they are used to being talked down to and treated 2nd rate.
I thought maybe these Americans were a minority but was told this happens all the time with the American visitors.
I am English by the way.
I can also remember working for a sotware company & had to call Drs in the States, they were sooooooo rude and obnoxious on phone. Texas was the worst

I'm am not trying to hurt anyone who is overweight's feelings, but I would be classified as skinny. I am discriminated against at school. People are always asking me: Do you have an eating disorder? Of course not!!! I COULD NOT LIVE ONE DAY WITHOUT EATING CHOCOLATE!!!! I am very tired of being judged because of my weight. If I saw an overweight person eating in my cafeteria, I WOULD NEVER go up to them and say, "you need to stop eating, you are heavy." That is pure disrespect! So why, being "skinny" am I discriminated against? Isn't it the same thing? What are your thoughts? Thanks!!!

My friends become very concern for me after they see me drinking some beer and water and I never get up to go to the bathroom. But I'm weaing a diaper. They are chide me and say I'm going to get a U.T.I. While this is going on I'm pissing in my diaper. How do I tell them that? How do I break the news to them without them thinking I'm a bit strange?

I just wanted to know how people feel about affirmative action. Do you think that it's really helping minorities, or just giving them an unfair advantage?

Personally, I believe in equal rights, not special rights. If I, as an anglo-saxon female, get a 3.5 GPA and a woman of African descent gets a 2.8, she will get the scholarship before I do, based on her race.

Any thoughts?

Recently, I needed some dirt to be delivered to my house. I started calling around to local business, and always got the "we'll call you back".

Then, as I'm working my real job, I got a call from a co-worker saying her husband just happens to have a landscaping business and it would be no problem to deliver some dirt. Her husband saw the caller-id and knew that is where his wife worked and was interested...

I call off my search, assuming I'll have some free dirt soon.

Well one week goes by, no dirt. I remind her.."Oh sure sure, I'll remind my husband, I know he's been busy"

Two weeks go by, still no dirt. I remind her again..."Yeah, He's been real busy, but I'll remind him again".

Still no dirt after three weeks. Now I have a bad taste in my mouth. Not only do I have no dirt, but I've wasted three weeks of time chasing this seemingly dead end.

How should I handle this situation?

...is talking to you and keeps using the phrase 'you know' after about every other five words??? Say for instance you ask a question....they answer....but keep adding in "you know"??

Well heck if "I knew" I would't be asking right? Aaaarrrrrrrrgggggggg...that gets me angry....and that's outta my CALM character.

I believe so, but not in a malicious way, but in a truthful way.

Like if you have a friend who has his laces undone, you do not say:

"Oi your so stupid, don't you know how to tie laces"

But instead guide them in the right direction:

"Hey watch out, your shoelace is untied, you might trip"

So if you apply this to religion, instead of saying:

"You idiots still stone people to death because of stupid reasons"

You would say:

"I respect your right to believe what you want, but this cannot affect my freedoms as a HUMAN BEING"

OR WOULD MUSLIMS TAKE OFFENSE STILL!!!!!!?

If you noticed that someone at your gym was using the facility solely and not so subtlely to further their rather "perverted agenda" (can't go into great deal in order to not offend, but use your imaginations) -would you:
A>Confront the Spandex Slime in person ?
B>Rat him out to the "fitness police" ?
C>Blow it off and let the chips fall where they may ?
D>Purchase him a ticket to a strip club where he can feel more at home ?
E>Something clever I haven't thought of ?

I'm a single English teacher living overseas, and twice I've had workmates who annoy the **** out of me by telling me that they enjoy wild sex in the shower when the kids are at home, and they lock the door and other stuff like that. It spooks me that they are thinking of me. Ewwww. Then they ask me why I'm not married. Like it's any of their business?

I watch a lot of HGTV and people are always worried about how things will be for entertaining, like the backyard, the dining room, the layout of the living room. I don't enjoy having people in my personal space. How often do you "entertain"?

So my question is, how can you protect ourself against killer donkies while on a camping trip?

i usually do at least acouple times a night, but if it weren't for the fact that he took all the paper towels away so that i have to use his towels, i would prefer to do it myself. and some of these clubs are grimy and really shouldn't have bathroom attendants anyway. as if i'm gonna suddenly going to think i'm at the ritz, and forget about the one-toothed stripper that was hitting on me three minutes ago.
