Perhaps it's just their mode of expressing them selves, and
prehaps dramatizing what they are speaking of.
How this has anything to do with trust is beyond me.

I don't feel that it is an issue with trust. I sometimes feel that these people are over emphasizing a point or an issue of some sort. I have a good sense of humor so what I would do is when they change their tone of voice, I would lean forward as though listening intently and then use their tone of voice in reply to what they are saying. This is a polite way of showing them, themselves and how odd they seem when they try to come across and in the process make themselves look ridiculous.

Do you mean the pitch changes as they're talking? or they change their pitch between talking to someone else and then you? because if you meant the first one, I have been told I do this so I can tell you from experience that yes, you can trust them lol. In my case, everyone in my family sounds basically the same - but my mom's generation spoke two languages at home w/ parents who didn't speak English so it's stronger, and by my generation we seem to have this lingering tone thing you mentioned. I have to try very hard to keep my voice even.

When the pitch of the voice is changed - alot is being said.

For instance, when a the pitch goes higher, they are imho losing control, in either a positive way (excitement, happiness) or they're angry and deceiving.

You have to study what they're saying. Then you can determine the meaning and know whether they can be trusted.

Some are merely putting up fronts to mask an otherwise unflattering personality. A sudden change in the tone of their voice can be perceived as deceitful.

Some are likely insecure about showcasing their true character due to the pressures of societal and cultural norms. (These types will lower and soften their tone when dealing with strangers.)

Still others wil only change their tones given the circumstances involved. In some environments, it is necessary to be more "formal" and professional so an overbearing tone may be counterproductive whereas a more casual atmosphere allows one to be more of a "free spirit."

'But one of many forms of body language, which the student of life must know to read, not the words themselves solely but the signature of energy (as you would say here, tone) through which the truth is delivered -- of course, accompanying this is the physical gestures themselves, like the brow, flush of skin, even the pupils of the eye, the arms and nerve response at the face and its musculature and... so on. All are to be read.

Ultimately, abide the viseral response you get from an individual -- what we call the gut instinct.

There are some people who have not learned reading so in childhood; they are few, but there 'are' some.

These languages tend to accuracy -- not always, for there are some, in particular sociopaths and psychopaths, even confidence people, who usurp this natural response, which is otherwise largely an unconscious thing, this conveying of the true sentiment of a given thing or "issue."

There is one set of beings, which cannot quite be fooled -- animals, in particular mammals aside from human beings.

Trust is an overall energy, having more to do with truth of experience and exposure than mere tone of voice of course. Often what helps 'upload' the most fit, updated skill in this area is to get exposures with all types of people, all walks of life and stresses, races, cultures, and environments, wherewith the skill uploads naturally -- and subjectively.

I guess these folks think they're adapting to certain people when they speak in different tones. Just like when people change their tone when speaking to children. I don't know whether or not they can be trusted but it's hard to know who they really are when they change their tone or even attitude for each people they encounter.

It would depend on what tone of Voice they use to address me, if it is Amicable I would reply but if it is a tone of voice you would use with Kids, I would just walk away. Can they be trusted? it would depend on the one who is speaking.

i don't like when people change their voice to talk down to people .. it seems fake and cowardly to me.

like when someone says "Thank you" in a demeaning tone, but they dont' mean it and they don't have the balls to say what the really mean b/c they might be able to use the person in the future..

It depends. I don't think it's a matter of whether or not they can be trusted. I use slang when I'm at home, but I use professional language when I'm around business people.
