What can I do for my neighbor who I really don’t know well. Their house is on fire as I write this. The fire department is on scene they have it under control and it is far enough from my house. I feel so helpless for them. I want to go our there and hug them. I too had a house fire last November 2, 2006. I saw the flames and those feelings of helplessness and hopelessness came back again. I pulled up on my street and saw it. I sat in my car and wept when I pulled in the drive. My Next door neighbor is down there but I cant bring myself to go. I’m afraid I would break down right there on the spot being as I have walked that mile in their shoes. Is it wrong for me not to show support and walk down there? Am I being selfish?

I work at a bank an my immediate supervisor was being so snappy today. From the second I go t to work she was complaining, she was in a bad mood towards me, snapping at me and just being overall unfriendly and unapproachable.

I usually have an upbeat personality and am generally smiley and happy at work but today it was just so hard because her attitude was dragging me down. She wasn't acting like this to anyone else.

How can I deal with her? To be honest, she's intimidating and I don't want to confront her about it. Even HER boss (the branch manager) is intimidated by her and won't confront her about anything. I just want to know what to do in the future. She's a very loud, speak her mind kind of person and very fakey. She can switch from nice to B*tch in an instant, so I'm worried about confronting her. What should I do?

Imagine what the worst crime is, hold the idea right there. But, go the whole answer without telling me what happened.

Reality as an issue is not so much the topic we talk upon, but how the issue is handled for the understanding where we were grateful for having had the experience, but took an action where no one else was hurt, it was legal, but not orientated to revenge, but healing and prevention without damage to ourself or others.

When we are hurt, some times it is morally, socially, physically, even in our mind. Terrorism in all its extremist ideology only succeeds because we either are intimidated, bullied, forced, or even wounded, surely in gratitude and forgiveness knowing lifes experiences, when our mind is wounded, surely there can be no worse crime than the freedome of being nowhere else more free than in our mind and it fails reason is worst?

Here's the deal-I am going to be house sitting for a very good friend of the family. I am supposed to check on the house several times a day and stay there every night for 5 nights. I am supposed to come up with a price for them to pay me. I have no idea how much to ask to house sit. Does anyone know the average price or a fair price to ask for?

Some of my husband's family is coming to visit this Christmas. Our nephews and their parents are VERY messy. They bring out toys and don't put them away, they never make their bed, they don't put thier dishes in the dishwasher. I have to cook and clean up after my own children and family. I can't keep up with both. They just clutter every room and I try so hard to keep my house nice. The rest of the family that is visiting do just fine as houseguests.

And they do this at their house too. There, they have piles of food and laundry everywhere, it smells, and it has cockroaches everywhere. But they are very nice and are family. How can I get them to be neater while their here and get their kids to clean up after themselves without seeming like a rude hostess?

Here's an example of an argument I had:

Friend - You need to be more open minded and learn to accept other people's viewpoints.
Me - Well then, what about white supremacists? Don't they deserve to be understood and have people accept their viewpoints.
Friend - Well, no. They are wrong.
Me - Why are they wrong? Don't they have the right to feel the way they do and to have people me more accepting towards white supremacy?
Friend - Stop playing with words.
Me - So you are saying that there are people's views that we shouldn't try to accept then?
Friend - Well, in that case yes.
Me - Well then what makes YOU decide what views we should accept and the ones to ignore? Do you only mean the views that you agree with and not , in this case white supremacy, being you don't agree with it?
Friend - You're twisting it around.
Me - No I am not. What you are saying is that you choose to accept people's views that agree with you and not those you find wrong.
Friend - Well...

If your child performs badly in class & you scold and tell her that she needs to perform better like the class toppers who got A+ grade - then she replies back saying that "stop being so mean to me - I have got the same scores as almost the whole class, only two or three people get top scores & in all other classes it is the same way! My performance is normal only, so stop generalizing." - if your kid just said that, wouldn't you get angry and dole out severe punishment to her?

But almost all adults these days are saying the same thing - they are using political correctness as a way of defending their faults. Don't you agree? In this case shouldn't the adults receive the same extent of punishment as the child would recieve?

At what point do you say something to get their attention again? At what point should you complain? At what point should you walk out or walk away when being ignored?

My four month old niece is getting baptized this weekend. My husband and I are unable to make the trip (his sister lives across the country) but we would like to send a gift. As he and I do not follow his sister's religious path, we felt it would be inappropriate to send a religious gift. People have suggested things like commemorative engraved silver cups (they seem kind of silly) or a gold cross necklace (jewelry on a baby is so weird!). Does anyone have any suggestions?

When guests comes in and I have to notify someone that the person or persons are here, what is the best method to convey that? I especially am at a loss when there is more than 1 person.

Is there are, say, 2 guests, should I be saying "lisa and max are here" (or should I be taking their last names?). Or, "Choicepoint (their company) is here". But I cannot annouce their company if, say, they are all from 2 different companies. And if I just say "your guests are here", it sounds pretty vague.

If you were the boss expecting guests, what would you like to hear from me?

I am at a loss for correct words.

We're selling my wife's wedding dress on eBay. we just received this question about it:

"I 'm a finishing female designer here in Singapore/ UK. Though, I got a client in the US who'd just post a recent order of the same wedding dress you have. So let me know the condition of the dress along with the Firm price for it, as i would be glad to make an additional payment of $50 to its firm price, as i can't wait for the bids to end for it. Consequently, i' ll like to know if a Certified Check drawn in US dollars is fine, as thats the means of payment my client has, Reach me via my email directly: ** lee115200@hotmail.com ** and provide us your [address, etc] for payments to be addressed to as i check my mail rather than eBay account. I await your quick response NB . We'll give you our UPS shipping account and our client address in FL to... Lee Gilbert

Ever hear of a scam like this? It sounds shady, but I can't see the angle since we hold the merch until check clears. Thoughts?

When they hired me (it's a state organization), the secretary took me shopping and bought me lots of decorations that I got to pick out for my office on the company credit card. Now that I'm leaving and got "laid off" do I leave them or take them? Would the decorations be mine or the companies? I would really like to keep them. Thanks!
