I'm looking for a waitressing job. It's been about 10 years since I've waitressed. At the end of your shift, what percentage of your tips do you give to the bartender who prepared your drinks?

Well it is a sad day that I have to tell you this. A lot of places know without you telling them the average amount you made on tips due to POS systems (point of sale) and credit/debit card usage. Therefore they have a set amount....I have seen everything from 7% up to 15%.

Some rely on honesty. It is also l ike them being the server and you the customer. I have been on both sides of the bar and the waitresses that were cheap, tip thief's and the like demand the most and best but gave the least if any, compesation, hence they would get substandard service.

Likewise, when I get my drink order from the bar in a fast or timely manner poured correctly and not sloppily done or just thrown together, not only does it make him/her and I and the Co. look good but does result in better service, which generates more product enthusiasim, which generates more income for the company which in turn could nbet me or the server more of a tip. It's a two way street and it is VICIOUS!

(10% is AVERAGE and UNDERSTOOD if not EXPECTED!! Not that I do what is expected!)

Personally I thiknk that you can always tell someone in the Industry by the way they treat you and tip.

Also, you can tell a lot of a person's character by the way they treat teir server/waitress/waiter/...

10% is enough. Remember, he is also getting tips and not giving any to you
