People are so nosy, your best bet would make sure you have logged off everything on your computer that has personal stuff. And take home everything that you don't want people to see. Maybe trying to get a lock box that you are the only one who has a key. If people are snooping in your things, talk to someone that can talk to people about it. Good Luck.

My husband has this problem with a particular co-worker. It began with constant pilfering of his aspirin and cookies from home and has escalated to office supplies and snooping through his files.

He now takes his most important files with him in a secured filebox about the size of a briefcase, hid his NEW aspirin bottle in his desk but left the old bottle with one aspirin in it in the desk as a decoy. (WHO would steal the last aspirin?)

He has no locking drawer on his desk and is out of the office area most of the day so he's forced to carry his most sensitive stuff with him. In the end, it's easier to keep it close than to trust the coworker to keep his mitts off.

Find out who it is and next time they are near you talk to them about how you think somebody is snooping through your stuff. Tell them that you can't figure out who is doing it and that you will kill them if you ever find out.

that'll teach them to look again!

Or, have a hidden camera set up and take pictures the next time they snoop through your drawers. When you have proof, give it to your boss or print the picture and post it everywhere with the title "NOSEY" in big letters!

Just don't keep anything there that you wouldn't want them to see. If it is something regarding work such as procedures, how to perform a specific function at work, then they should ask to use it first. Especially if you took the time to put together, say a manual on running reports or something.
Don't be afraid to be assertive, (not rude), and tell them to stop going thru your things.

get a lock and lock your stuff up!
or don't have anything personal for them to snoop threw!

it's an on going issues in every company
some snooped through my desk!
I was the one at work that asked for replacement locks and keys for my desk i have tea and change and candles and other things that are mine and i want them at work.. that and I lock my pc instead of logging out! that way no one can use my computer and less chance of someone sitting at my desk!
i did put note on my desk i don't care if you use my desk just put the crap back!

also it never hurts to send out an e-mail stating about camreas are watching you!

one of my workers did that her plant came up missing she sent an e-mail saying who ever took my plant please own up to it (we have it on camrea) don't make me go through it!

not even 5 mintes later the guy owned up to it!

complain to your boss and tell them to do something about it.
If they can't come up with a solution, buy yourself a metal/steel box where you can put a lock on it (get the kind of lock where you have to put your combination number don't get the one with a key) and put all your personal things in that box that you don't want snooped.

write something false about yourself or about the person whos going to read it. when they confront you about it tell them u made it up to see if you'de catch em snooping, usually it works cuz then they feel stupid. If that doesnt work, then put passwords and locks on your things.

Start putting notes for them to find. Like MMMMM you find this interesting. Get back to work and mind your own business. Or when you opened this drawer the hidden camera is rolling. Gotya!
