We have a friend(male, single) that we have treated out to many meals. I don't know if I should mention to him, that would be nice if he would treat us, once in a while. He's not rich, but he could afford to treat us once in a while. We do enjoy his company. Feed back please. Do you have a similar situation to mention?

I have been "invited" to a funeral. It's not a family member. It's the wife of a long standing friend. I find funerals to be very upsetting. I cannot handle the grief and tears.

a good friend of mine before was able to gave me some amount as a form of gift. but now she's so very angry with me... and she insisted on taking back the money as if according to her I HAVE A DEBT with her. and secondly, she texted me a lot of degrading messages and even tried to pose me a threat that she's going to send somebody to my parents and my office to collect for that alleged DEBT of me.

What to do when a guy friend is happy to see you and he tries to kiss you on the cheek, only that I'm having a terrible case of acne breakout. What to say to decline the kiss or be proactive in inviting another form of greeting, like quickly kiss and hug the person first before he had a chance to? In this case, whats the etiquette for kissing a guy first? Faux pas for a lady to do that?

My friend has invited me to dinner in his home. They just moved in to their new house. I would like to take a nice gift for the hostess, his wife. As a professional bartender, I've always taken along a bottle of great wine or cognac to these things. However, this couple does not drink. What should I take now?
Any suggestions?

It was my 6yr olds bday party. We opened gifts after guests left. There were 2 families that we hadn't marked off as giving a gift yet. One of them previously told me "we gave you the gift in the winnie the pooh bag but theres no card". But it was in a loud space so I wasn't sure what they said. There was 1 gift without a card but it was not in a pooh bag. What do I say in the thank you card to the 2 families?

...she says it's been two weeks, and it was only supposed to take 24 hours.

I said, "Don't worry, my lady, some day your prints will come..."

She threw her purse at me and screamed and ran away down the mall.

What did I do?

Here's the deal: I work 8 am to 5 pm, and my roommate works 3 pm to 11 pm. His bedroom is next to mine, and he watches TV often until 2 or 3 am. The first couple of times, I've asked him to turn it down and he complied, but lately he has been resisting.
He insists that since he pays the rent, he has the right to watch TV after work just like I do at a reasonable volume. He also insists that since I'm the light sleeper, it's not his problem and that I should get earplugs for when I sleep.
I insist that asking someone to turn down a TV after midnight is a reasonable request (especially since our bedrooms are also on top of other people's bedrooms) and if he wants to make noise late at night he should wear headphones.
Who's in the right and who should concede?

My sister gave me a great birthday party, with friends attending from my work and theirs. Unfortunately, I don't know anyone's home address to send their thank you cards to! The thank yous are written and stamped-I just don't know where to send them! So, my question is twofold: 1) Can I send a thank you card to a work address, and 2) If not, does anyone know of a good way to get someone's home address?

Most people in western societies know that bribes are bad because it is a form of coercion and manipulation. (I did this for you therefore you must do that for me or you are bad!)

Yet situations are never this simple. Favors are often given in unbalanced relationships when one party sees a huge profit for himself if he forks out a small favor. This party tends to be the one who has less.

Less often is measured by what market demands and it is easy to see that a boss, a pretty gal and a young man having a lot to offer to a subordinate, not good looking guy and an old man.
(Given all things are equal as a pretty gal can have a bad attitude or a not good looking man have lots of other qualities)

Should a person accept a gift/favor from someone who has less/potentially have less?
The downside of not taking the gift might be perceived as arrogance.

opinion is one that he or she is likely to find quite upsetting. For example, your good friend is an artist and asks your honest estimate of his chances of being successful. You think he is a shockingly bad awful artist who hasn't the slightest chance of success. What would you do?
