My classmates are hard to work with. There is a saying that if you can't beat them, join them. But I can't because they are rude and bad. Even our class officers. They are teasing me that I am the most awkward and the most lousy invlass. Why are they so mean to me? I need your help...

How does the thumb up or down work?

Do you think non pregnant, non disabled people should give up their seat on the rush hour train for a pregnant woman? I have to start work 1 hour earlier because if I get my normal train I have to stand up and end up feeling really sick and dizzy.

I know everyone has paid the same amount of money to get on the train and all that so dont give me a hard time by saying stuff like i chose to get pregnant, get the bus or things like that, I just want to know if you still think it is good manners to do this one little thing for a pregnant woman.

If you were to walk through a crowded place and see a service member, what would you do? Would you thank them? Nod at them as you passed? Curse them? Why?

I think that I must be the only considerate person alive! We just had new neighbours move in two days ago. Now I know that they must be excited and want to get everything done quickly, i.e putting up shelfs and putting together various pieces of furniture, BUT why do they think it is ok to continue doing work like that say until, after 9pm?! I have had crap neighbours for the last 8 years, each of them create a lot of noise and a so selfish! Why can't people just do things at a reasonable hour?
Another example of consideration is when people decide to have a house party. If I was to arrange one I would advise my immediate neighbours and the following neighbour. This would at least give them a warning and if they didn't like house parties it would give them an opportunity to make plans. But everyone else just doesn't give a damn, and when you confront them they just moan and in most cases just increase the volume.

Anyone else out there considerate or is there no hope?

My mother in law wants us to come to her homefor Christmas...but whenever we go to her home she always wants me to cook something.I don't feel it's appropriate for her to ask me to get in the kitchen and cook 2 and3 side dishes when I'm at her house as a GUEST.She doesn't ask her other son's wife to cook...I know she's gonna ask again..would it be rude if I declined her "offer"?

I will be meeting a couple of buddies that are flying in from Houston this Friday at LAX. We are staying at Manhattan Beach on Friday and then we are going to San Diego Saturday afternoon. We all dress "Mid Houston" style at night, ie... Designer Jeans, rock&roll shirt or thermal if cold, and a dark colored suit jacket. Is this a mistake to wear in LA? Or is this a good thing to standout?

It was the first time we all met and it seemed a little forward to me. He is American born and raised so I don't think it's cultural. Any and all thoughts would be welcome.

Ok, so I just started this whole Y! Answers. I don't really understand the whole thumbs down thing. Now if someone gives a completely wrong answer to a straight forward yes/no, then they should get a thumbs down right? But if you are offering your opinion, as long as it is not derogatory, racist, or prejudice in any way how can people give you a thumbs down? I see a lot of good answers out there with thumbs down. Why? I mean if it's an opinion how can it be wrong?

My husband and I are attending a wedding at a resort in the Dominican Republic this summer. In our circle of friends/family it is customary (and expected) to give cash gifts, usually enough to cover your plate. This is between $100-$250 depending on the catering hall. Since we are traveling to this wedding and therefore spending on airfare/hotel do you think we should be as generous? How much do you think we should give? I believe weddings in the Carribean are not as expensive as in NYC where we live. They are also not spending extra money for a honeymoon since they'll already be there! It is my husband's coworker he has known for about 3 years.

If I had something you wanted really really bad; something that you longed for, something that you couldn't have.
You envy me for it, and you have a sick feeling in your solar plexus and tenseness.
You would do anything for it. Any chances of getting it leads to palpitations and dizziness due to adreniline rush.

It is something that makes people say "Oh naughty, naughty" and you are siad to feel embarresed by getting it.
It is a forbidden pleasure, but it is not sex or anything rude.

It is the food of the Gods, only for the chosen ones.

It is that thing that someones got and you were to shy to ask for some as well, fearing embarrasment that you may expose what it is you want.
You should have gone in for the kill when you had the chance. Now it's too late.
You should never ask for it, but be offered it.

Want's some?
You can't have it!

What do you think it is?
Can science find a way to get it? Regardless of the lies that people tell about it being forbidden.

If I see someone coming behind me and I know they are going faster, I pull over to the next lane, and let them pass. Why do idiots insist on making it like they are the only ones on the road, while they have drivers seething behind them? Then a whole line of cars will zoom around them to pass them and they still continue to stay in the left lane? MOVE THE FUNK OVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
