I have the same argument with my husband all the time! I personally think that's it's not ok especially with company over. If you don't pe e in public with the door open don't do it with other people around. Maybe if your home alone ok but otherwise keep the door shut!

Well, it isn´t good manners to let your bathroom door to be open when you have company. I understand that boys and men usually don´t mind that and very often keep the door open. But I - being a female - always consider it to be very rude and irritating and foolish. Even if it is your own home, you should still take into consideration other people´s feelings.

When you're alone it's fine. No sense in shutting the door. But when you've got company it's a little odd. Even if the person's seen you're goods before. It's just not pleasant to see someone doing their business.

When you are alone or with people that are part of the household I'd say it is OK, but if company comes over, unless they do the same, I'd close the door.

Am I to understand that the "bathroom" you're talking about is not a bathroom, but a toilet or lavatory or dunny?
If a bathroom, that is, a room where you bathe, yes, why not, it helps to create a draught that will eliminate fogging. If a toilet, yes, why not, it's your house.
BUT, if you have guests, it pays to respect the feelings of you visitors and mind your manners, even if it is your house.

this should be a strictly "alone" sort of thing. i hate it, i mean HATE it when my (future)mother in law leaves the door open, and the light off i might add, and i walk almost in before i realize shes in there. out of respect for yourself and your family, please keep the door closed. also, if there is company, the door should NEVER be open while youre in there. ICK!

Oh yeah! Nothing sexier than a guy peeing with the door open!

Absolutely rude and impolite. Force yourself to remember to close the door--at least when you have company.

bloody oath it is. When i'm at home i'll leave it open a little, can't be bothered closing the whole thing... i'll only leave it open if it's close friends who know me better than I know myself...
If my bro's home i'll open and close the door and see if I can knock him out with the smell!! HAHA

If using it to "eliminate" them the answer is no unless you are absolutely certain noone is home or likely to enter the house.
