What the hell is wrong with people. Why doesn't anyone speak to you properly, with due deference? Why the "attitude" and rudeness, which seems to permeate every aspect of modern life?

Dammit, I'm so angry.

I love my teachers, friends, old friends, churchfamily,my family, nieghbors and I want to invite them to my party but I can't afford because it would cost to much invite all of them to my graduation party. What should I do? Also I can't find a theme that would make them happy, but I do love Betty Boop and Tinkerbell any ideas. THANKS

I went with my university to Philadelphia this weekend and it was filled with bad mannered children. We went to see the king tut exhibit and there were a few schools there. These kids have absolutly no manners at all. They were pushing people from my group down the stairs, stramping over our bags while waiting to get into the Imax (sitting on benches), and they would scream durring the movie. The kids were about 4th graders too. I finally got REALLY angry and walked up to one of their teachers, who wasn't doing anything, and told her that 'her students made me not want to have kids, and they instead of the school spending 30 dollars a ticket for the studetns they should teach some manners.'

The teachers got really angry at us and the kids got worse. I don't think I was in the wrong, do you think I was?

Am having a debate with a friend; I maintain that 'please' is not always polite.

"Please do this" is usually an order. There's not much room to wiggle out of it.

On the other hand, casual requests -- "If you can spare the time, do you think you could get X done?" -- let the person you're asking say "I don't have the time, sorry," or "Sure, just as soon as I'm finished with Y."

The latter strikes me as much more polite. The friend disagrees -- 'please' is, for him, required. I say it makes for an awkward exchange, especially because the response to either phrasing tends to be followed with a 'thank you.' 'Please do this,' 'Yes,' 'Thank you,' strikes me as stilted and along the lines of what you'd expect from a grade school teacher and a student.

Am I, er, less old-fashioned than the friend? Is that even old-fashioned? Can you think of situations where one would be clearly better than the other, or is it an all-the-time thing for you? Etc, etc. Your comments...?

i dated my best friend who is 28 for a year. we were best friends 4 a whole year a year b4 that. after she dumped me anytime i would get interested n another girl she'd tell me to *** over to her apt 4 sex. that was november now shes seeing some 35 yr old guy who rides a harley and i see her maybe once a week. she says i'm still her best friend & she's moving to Atlanta GA this year sometime & she says she'll miss me terribly when she leaves. anytime i date a girl she is so critical of her, but anytime i say anything about harley guy she gets defensive. she never hardly calls me anymore, & i love her so much as a friend, & she says she loves me, as a friend, but i get the feeling she's just tryin 2 keep me under her thumb so she can manipulate me. all of my friends tell me she's manipulative. how do i find out if she's a manipulator &trying to keep me under her thumb or if she's REALLY my best friend? I REALLY need good advice here. It seems she never has time for me, am I being used?

I was out at a restaurant last night and this old couple was running this poor girl around so much and they were scolding her cause the order wasn't right the meat was well done and they wanted medium. Some people seem to think they are sub-human, I gave her a 40 dollar tip because I felt sorry for her.

I work in a small business office with my boss (who is there every now and then) and two other women. One woman I absolutely love working with, but the other is very arrogant, cocky, and acts like she "knows it all" She is very rude to me, and expects me to do a lot of her work for her. The problem is, the woman that I like working with has been at this job for 25 years and doesn't want to deal with her. So she stays quiet about the situation. She doesn't want to get involved. Also, my boss likes this overbearing woman who is driving me mad. She likes her so much in fact that she just bought her a company car to drive around and pays her a hefty salary. I know this woman just brown-noses to get everything she wants. I'm afraid if I tell my boss how I feel, then she may look down on me or fire me because she "likes" this other woman better. This woman takes credit for a lot of the work I do, and noses through my stuff like she wants to catch me doing something wrong...

I try to be playfully sarcastic. I never say anything rude or curse. Just playful, funny things. Sometimes people laugh with me but, sometimes I think back “I shouldn’t of said that” Although they smile. Is sarcasm annoying or inappropriate in the office? Everyone likes me and we get along but how much is to much. Do bosses appreciate a good sense of humor?

My friends daughter got called a white honkey by a girl the other day and then she said when they were outside playing soccer, this girl was saying "All you white people can't kick worth s**t" and the teacher was right there and didn't do anything about it while she was screaming and waving her arms around yet one time her daughter whispered something in someones ear and someone accused her of saying the N word and she got suspended for three days from school. When she swore she was whispering about a boy her friend liked and she NEVER said that but even if she did, no one even heard her and they suspended her witout any proofe at all. Don;t you think they should do the same for this girl? Her remarks were racist as well and everyone (even the teacher) heard her shouting it from the top of her lungs yet ignored it!

he has plenty of car park space outside his own house which is way down the road and yet insists on parking directly outside our house just because we and other neighbours have asked him not to. There is no reason why he should park there and I know he is doing it to just upset me as I can not park outside my own property. As we do not have a dropped kerb, I am stuck with what we can do? Any suggestions?

I have made some progress, but sometimes when we are out on a date in public, he forgets, and I have to remind him by handing him my lighter. He does not have a lighter since he is a nonsmoker. I want him to get ready to light my cigarette as soon as he sees me reaching for one.
