The best I can suggest is to check for ideas online, if you haven't yet. Turkish tapestries or upholstery may do it.

i'm turkish but i don't have an serious idea...but you can use red cloth and beads...most of the ottoman sultans' thrones was like that..it can be great and eye-watching ;)
