I don't think so at all. Actually, I am a bit turned on by bare feet propped up like that:-)

Well, this is the etiquette section, strictly speaking it probably is considered bad etiquette to prop your feet up regardless of what you're wearing almost anywhere outside your own home.
But practically I'd say it depends if there's enough room. After all going barefoot in public wouldn't be consired 'proper etiquette' by many, but as long as it doesn't harm anyone I think it's fine to break that rule, I haven't worn footwear for ten years myself. If the place is full then it's likely rude to put your feet up, since you'll almost be sticking your feet in the neck of the folks sitting in front of you & you'll likely be blocking the view of the folks behind you. But if there's plenty of empty seats & you're not blocking anything, then I don't think it matters if you prop them up.
I'd think it'd be pretty uncomfortable though; most theaters I've been in have seat rows with very high seats very close together, and no room between the seats to prop feet up only on the armrests of the row in front. I'd have to fold myself double to put my feet up, and also being very short I usually I have to sit up very straight trying to see over the folks in front of me.

Have you ever experienced having someone's feet up right behind you while you were trying to enjoy a movie?
I HAVE and it is not something I want to experience again!
I say if you really must put your feet up, make sure there is no one sitting in the chair in front of you or on either side of the chair in front of you.
If not I may have to smack you in the head the next time you put your feet up next to me! Yuck!

Well, if anyone around you happens to have a foot fetish, you might make them happy. But others probably don't like it that much.
Personally, as long as the feet are clean, and weren't blocking my view of the screen, I wouldn't complain about them. I might tickle them, though (just kidding! haha).

As comfortable as this may be---the answer is "yes" it's rude. If you want to kick back with your barefeet, maybe you should stay at home and watch a dvd.

Yes it is rude, and the people sitting around you (especially the row infront) will be annoyed.

As long as you don't stick them up beside someone's face. That could get ugly.
