lots of people have lost their manners and common sense.
I don't know where it's gone, but I'm tired of answering common sense questions and trying to get people to see that manners, matter...

OK, this question was not about the functionality of women's arms or whether or not we should always run over men. But I agree with the posted question. Unfortunately, chivalry is becoming outdated. Traditionally, men have been the providers, the pursuers; but in this age of feminism, women are wanting to be seen as equal to men, and empowered. I think we should return to the old school. A man doesn't have to put his jacket over a puddle for me or anything, but men should have more respect for women.
Ladies, watch how you dress, speak, behave. You have to act like a lady to be treated like a lady.

As women gained rights, they lost privileges. Also, it takes effort to teach children manners, gender specific or not. Our culture has always been individually oriented, but the difference between "then" and "now" is respect for others is no longer taught in the home, in schools or the general community.
As an added bonus, complimenting a woman or even being polite to a woman in a workplace can land a man in hot water. He can be accused of sexual harassment or being demeaning to his co-worker. In effect, proper manners can destroy a mans career, and even his standing in a community.

Hmm... which adult men are you speaking approximately precisely? frequently, maximum adult men in society do pay for his or her dates. that's even necessary for them to accomplish that. i'm uncertain who or what you're speaking approximately. I mean, if a guy needs to get a woman and save her, he often has to paintings for it and pay for each little thing like dinner, video clips, etc. possibly the guy to procure with is a style of exceptions in society. On a private notice, i think that in the time of this new age wherein women too paintings and a few even incomes super wages, the two the events in touch could desire to share the charges. additionally, it is not consistently the case that the guy could desire to easily sense fortunate that he ended up with some female. There are countless adult men who're so appealing, the girl could desire to be the single to pay for having frolicked with them. I mean, in case to procure with a male style stud with an insane set of 6 p.c.. abs and a physique to die for, why could desire to he be completely obliged to pay seeing as how the girl interior the date is fairly the guy who could desire to sense blessed? Cheers.

I think it has to do with who young men have as role models in this day and age. Before men looked up to John Wayne, James Cagney, Humphrey Bogart and other actors, now they look up to rappers who call women Ho's and show women half naked in their videos, or sport stars with their groupies. It is also the fault of young girls not demanding or expecting proper treatment from the guys they are with. Unfortunately I think chivalry IS dead.

It's what I guess you could call a drawback to the feminist movement.
Think of the tradeoff:
Pros: Women aren't legal property and have about the same rights as men.
Cons: You have to stand in line like everyone else and somehow find the strength within yourself to open a door.
I'm female and I don't think I deserve any special treatment just for that.

Since when are men supposed to give up our space in line at the supermarket? If I'm ahead of you I'm going first - that's just that. As for opening doors, if you're behind me I'll hold the door open for you, no matter what gender you are. Women have functional arms just like men do, so there's no reason in the world that men should hold the door for them (unless their hands are full - but then again, if a man's hands are full, you should hold the door for him too).

Yes, it's just you.
Try to learn what it means to be a lady first. Then, you might be able to begin to recognize how a gentleman behaves.
Your latest question (statement) was certainly not someting a lady would say. You state, " I think most men are dogs. . ."
If you were to learn to be a lady you might be able to recognize gentlemen when you see them.

I don't think men are losing manners. I think the Femi Nazi's prevent them from using manners, thereby belittling themselves. And showing that they are mountains of ignorance by insisting that men and women are the same; they don't know the word 'equality'. At the Olympics the strongest woman is weaker than the weakest male. But there is no male who can be as graceful as a woman, etc etc etc.

Part of it is that women are sending mixed signals. Some don't want doors opened for them but I still do. While there's lots of rude men around some of it is women's fault.
