Can anyone help me with an excuse letter? I was late to school and missed first period. I don't want to say that I woke up late though. Any ideas?

Dear teacher,
This letter is to apologize for my absence on (date). I'm sorry for any important instructional activities i might have missed. Schoolwork is very important to me and i really loath being late to school. The reason i was late was because (if in NYC) there was an incident in the train that caused an unexpected delay.(if some where else)I felt pretty sick and wasn't going to attend school but i changed my mind and tried not to miss the rest of the day........

Tell them you were stuck in the middle of a traffic jam. Or maybe your vehicle broke down or ran out of petrol.

tell them you fell down in the bathroom and woke up later. yeah that might work.
