i think manners and etiquette are symbols of civility that are being ignored by the newest generation. just giving one moment of consideration or kindness to your fellow man or woman can mean the biggest difference in their day. Rather than ignoring or just not caring about others, we should work together to rid our cultures of stupidity, ignorance, malice, and greed that we all benefit as a society and even have a chance of stopping this snowball effect to self destruction.

A good manner is a trait that defines you as a considerate, respectful, evolved human being. Working with people over the years I have encountered many bad manners, which include inconsiderations such as belching or breaking wind causing discomfort to others, playing music or using power tools at inappropriate times, using foul and abusive language when upset rather than trying to resolve an issue. However two of the worst bad manners in my opinion are (a) Always being late - it absolutely shows no regard for the other person's time or other commitments, and (b) grandstanding - when someone always has a 'better' or 'worse' story than you. It trivialises what may be an intense experience for someone and is a great way to destroy rapport in a conversation.

Manners. Something parents/guardians or i suppose, anyone, teaches you, hopefully, at an early age. Example: Always introduce, when someone is "new" in your loop. Always open the door for an elderly person. "Please" and "Thank you" are at the top of the list. Covering your mouth, when you sneeze. These are just a few....but well worth mentioning. And YES, I do believe that "good" manners can take you a long ways in today's world. Haven't encountered any "bad" manners, here lately...That's refreshing! : )

Good manners are and will always be important. A person that shows good manners, even if he/she is dressed in rags, shows a form of elegance that only another good-mannered person can appreciate. Yes, it is still working nowadays.

Good manners is good characteristics. However some people insist that saying pardon when something has gone wrong instead of sorry is rudeness.
