They have no problem talking crap about other nationalities and being rude, but when you give them the same medicine, they call you a bully and say you hurt their feelings. Or sometimes, they swing their fists.

With French or Irish, they take it in stride, but the Saxons around here just can't have a civilised conversation. Why?

My girlfriend works at a "salon" i guess you'd call it....

She used to do my hair before i started buzzing it for motorcyle season.

The other day we were at her house and she took a stab at people who don't tip her.

Honestly...i didn't even realize i was supposed to.
Since when do we have to tip people who we're paying $15 for a simple hair cut that takes 15 or 20 minutes to do?

It took all my strength not to say "maybe if it was a better cut, you would have gotten something"
just to get back at her stab at me...but i didn't want to cause trouble.

So.....what's the deal?
should there be a tip?
and how much?

If you walk down the street and give somebody a friendly smile then you must see the reactions that you get. Everthing from puzzeled to a frown as to say "I wonder what she wants. There is nothing wrong with being friendly and smiling. We have so much to be greatful for and why not bless somebody who maybe going through a very tought time a smile.

In my opinion, I believe that it is very disgusting. The principals and the chaperones should write down each person's name who is doing that dirty dancing.

for the last 48 hours or so i have been plagued by what seemed at the time a blocked pipe leading from my toilet resulting in a lot of smelly overflow. this has happened in the past and i have got it taken care of straight away.
i have informed the landlord of the problem and she is going to contact a plumber in the morning. now the problem is that it has seemed to rectify itself. i can't explain, but everything seems normal again. i really don't want to be the boy who cried poo!
the plumbers are going to arrive tomorrow and i'm going to look like an idiot. i can't wait to be totally embarrassed and have my face turn beet red. it's gonna be awesome.
has something similar happened to you or someone you know?

I'm sorry but I'm tired of being nickel and dimed at every turn. I went to my a local sushi place to order take-out. I filled out my order and the owner says come back in fifteen minutes. He didn't act friendly or offer me a place to sit and wait for my order. When I picked up my order of $17.20 he becomes very slow to give me my change and then puts it on the counter in an attempt to embarrass me if I pick it up. There are other sushi places in town and for $2.80 he lost hundreds of future sales to me. I'll often kick down a couple of bucks even when I'm picking up an order and I always tip around 20% (possibly more) if the service is good, I'll give 5 or 6 dollars tip for pizza delivery. But I was at Outback a few times with the same waiter and it wasn't busy at all and the service was horrendous. Does that guy deserve a 20% tip? I gave $10 each to two guys delivering a mattress to my apt. but I'll pick up my change from the counter of a sushi bar, especially from a rude owner.

Ever gave it a thought that if somebody can in lenght discuss some mutual "friend" if it could be possible that the same person can talke about you behand your back. Why do people in general have to make the other small in order to apear bigger themself. Instead of say something ugly about somebody else, rather say " You know he/she is not hear to defend himself/herself" Try and see something good/nice in the other person and focus on that.

People here are blowing this WAY out of proportion. I have NEVER spend much time much less the night at James’ house since he moved back here. I certainly didn’t plan on falling asleep at his house. He had broken up with his girlfriend 3 days earlier and asked me to keep him company once I got there. I FELL ASLEEP! I’m an incredibly deep sleeper which is why I didn’t get up after a few hours. I woke up covered by a blanket on James’ sofa and when I saw the dozens of missed calls and voicemails I had I rushed home. I’ve never cheated on anyone and neither has James. My husband and him simply don’t get along because my husband is convinced James wants me back which is just crazy. My husband is a dentist and dated on of his assistants during an off period in those 3 years who he still works with today and I have no problem with that.

I work in a large office building and this guy I work with is obviously interested in me. THis guy has asked if I had a boyfriend (which I said yes) and he has also said 'I'm surprised you don't have kids by now with as good as you look" I am really grossed out...

Anyway, I don't work with him directly but I see him EVERYWHERE. He always says hi so I don't know if he is just being nice?

Then again he always stares me up and down and it freaks me out...

What should i do? Serious answers please...

Do they collect tips together and split them, as it can be confusing trying to find the one who did the work? Do you still take not of the 15% guide even though this might mean £15?

I'm hosting a graduation open house for my brother (graduating from medical school). He said he wants the invite to say "no gifts" but my mom doesn't want to say that for fear of poor etiquette--although she's fine with the no gift policy. Is there another less obvious way to say it? What are the "rules" on this?

My boyfriend proposed last Friday and I don't know if my expectations were too high or what it was but I was left extremely disappointed by the proposal even though the ring was amazing. This was his proposal:

Every time I look at you I feel like the luckiest guy in the world to call you mine. You’re everything I’ve ever wanted and everything I’ve ever needed and I simply cannot imagine my life without you. You’ve made me happier than anyone should have the right to be and I will love you my whole life if you just give me the chance. Would you make this the best moment of my life by agreeing to become my wife. Will you marry me?

Was I expecting too much?

I've just answered a question where the asker wondered what she would have to eat for tea. You could tell who the Americans were, one thought we were all in a 50s timewarp and the others suggested crumpets, scones, fancies and Earl Grey .... for your information, that would be more like 'high tea'.

Unless you're posh, you have breakfast, dinner and tea in the UK. I'm a carer and we had a girl from South Africa working with us for a while and she would get very confused about the fact that we called my ladies and gentlemen for dinner at midday, I remember her becoming quite animated in her protests at one point.

I've never met them and I don't want the first thing I say to them to be "you're driving me nuts with your freaking noise." How can I tell them they are being too loud without sounding bitchy? They are loud at all hours of the night (2:30 am last night) and I've already lost my patience with them before I have even approached them about it. How can I keep that out of my voice and words and resolve this nicely?

Very hungry child aged about six stuffing things under her coat.

What do you:
Do you tell her to put them back.

Report her to the staff.

Walk away and forget you saw her.

By the way the goods she was stuffing under her coat was food nothing else, poor little thing.
