My boyfriend proposed last Friday and I don't know if my expectations were too high or what it was but I was left extremely disappointed by the proposal even though the ring was amazing. This was his proposal:

Every time I look at you I feel like the luckiest guy in the world to call you mine. You’re everything I’ve ever wanted and everything I’ve ever needed and I simply cannot imagine my life without you. You’ve made me happier than anyone should have the right to be and I will love you my whole life if you just give me the chance. Would you make this the best moment of my life by agreeing to become my wife. Will you marry me?

Was I expecting too much?

ouch! it's women like you that give the rest of us a bad name! Either this question is a joke or you are really taking yourself too seriously. Even one sentence of that "proposal" would be a lovely preface to the question at the end. Get over yourself girl and be thankful for what you have, cos if you keep going the way you're going you won't have him for long! He's bound to fall foul of your "expectations" again soon, maybe for only getting a payrise of 1 million instead of 5, or for buying you a Ferrari instead of a Lamborghini, or some other similarly awful indiscretion.

You were expecting too much sweetie. Men are simple. They aren't geniuses. That's probably the best way he could articulate his feelings ( another thing men are not good at doing).
If you truly feel that it wasn't good enough then leave. I think it was a decent proposal and if you liked the ring he sounds liek a keeper to me. Congrats and good luck.

Yeah--I can't for the life of me figure out how it could have been better. You would have really been dissappointed with my hubby's proposal---"Wanna get married?"

Get over it--you got a lot more than most. I don't know many men who put that much thought into their proposal.

It does sound a bit that way. It sounds like he put a lot of thougt into what he said and that he meant it. I guess though you still have to do what is right for you. I mean maybe you are not ready or he isn't the one for you if you are feeling this way. I think you need to think really hard and be honest with him.

What exactly were you expecting? That was a great proposal. I would be happy if my boyfriend just turned to me and said "will you marry me?"

Life isn't a movie. To expect the music to start playing, doves flying. the fountains springing forth and the camera circling, is not realistic.
Actually, I think he did quite well.

I think that sounds like a great proposal. What more did you want? What was dissappointing?

Honestly, you really shouldn't be expecting anything. What ever is offered is a good as it gets.

What else did you want, car and house with your ring? I think he did pretty well. Good luck.
