I travel a lot with my friend for work, and he's always leaving his trash in my car. The other day I told him to stop leaving his trash in my car and to clean it up. We got into a argument and he said that he was a adult and that I'm not to tell him to do anything, I'm to ask him and say please otherwise he will rebel and not do it. He said it comes from when he was a kid and was told to do something he would rebel. He said that he's a adult now and he deserves and demands the respect he should get and that he won't do anything if he's not asked polietly. This is HIS trash that I'm telling him to clean up. I've asked him in the past, he said that I need to ask him every time. I don't think I should have to ask him to clean up his own mess every time, who's right?

Some of the questions I have posted are:

1. "As a liberal, what do you feel about cousin marriages?"

2. "Do you consider abortion as a form of murder?"

3. "Is abortion a physically painful and extremely expensive procedure?"

The thing is I come from a backward culture & i want to learn about Western culture. So, I ask some of these basic questions. But I hear from some people that my questions do not warrant an answer, much less an intelligent one. What is wrong with my questions? I would like to hear intelligent opinions from people, but all I get are only emotional, close-minded views.

Should I rephrase my questions so that they are more intelligent? I'm sorry because English is not my first language

We are attending a viewing on Thursday and the funeral on Saturday. When would it be more appropriate to send flowers? Since the viewing is two days away, will the flower arrangement wilt before the funeral?

I did not ask, I do not think there is a need for someone to impose their opinion on me.

I have a long-time friend who loves to shop, yet ALWAYS manages to re-gift to me at birthdays and Christmas. Why? What does that say to me about our friendship?
Please do not reply with "It's the thought that counts". That cliche doesn't apply to this situation simply because re-gifting is NOT a thoughtful act. Thanks.

Everytime a member of the family trips up the stairs someone asks if they are ok to make sure that they didn't in fact really hurt themselves. I just did about 10 minutes or so ago, and nobody asked. It was really loud, and i screamed. and nobody asked "are you ok?"....My arm really hurts, including my elbow(its how i fell..on my right arm). and my toes on my left foot.... *i'm typing with one hand.*

But why would one not see if someone wasn't really hurt? I mean i could have broken my leg...or split my head open....

I have this client who requested in writing the closure of her investment (she retired) and that the cheque be made payable to another investment company and sent to her financial adviser. This we did, no problems here.

Subsequently, the client asked that we cancel that cheque and send a replacement cheque made payable in her name. This we did and sent it to her financial adviser like the first one.

Now, the client says that we should have sent the replacement cheque to her home address even though no where did she specifically ask in her letter that we do this. We simply sent the cheque made payable to her to the financial adviser like the first one.

We then had to cancel that replacement cheque and send a second replacement cheque to her home address. So overall, it took just over a month for her to get her money.

In view of this, my question is: who is at fault?

Thanks

I get regular massages and this question just popped into my head last time. My massage therapist is a man and he uses a towel to drap me in, I am nude underneith. I am totally comfortable with this. Normal massage stuff. When he massages my lower gluts and the back of my upper thighs/ inner thighs, he moves the towel up to expose the bottom half of my butt, once again normal.

But from his high angle I wonder if if he can see my crotch as my legs are somewhat appart when he does the inner thighs and butt. His movements kind of seperate my butt cheeks too so that would make it even easier to get a clear view. I am not bothered by this, just wondering.

Do you thing the therapist can see that during a normal full body massage while working the butt area?

What is the proper way to handle a backseat driver?

There was one time I was driving and one of the passengers in my backseat was committing this offense. I just said, in a very bland voice, "Gee, I didn't know I had a steering wheel in the backseat."

She acted like it was a joke. heh Oh well, at least she stopped.

why don't people flush the toilet after using it and what type of people are these? would you consider taking a number 2 (in a public bathroom, health club etc.) to be inconsiderate of others and perhaps you would wait until you arrive in the privacy of your own home. Also, why do old-timers like to hang around in locker rooms naked? thanks for your kind comments..

I have never ever been late with a bill until three weeks ago my grandmother very suddenly passed away and I had to leave town right away. This made me a couple weeks late with my water payment. The other day my land lady came BANGING on my door and screaming at me that I was late with my payment and I owed her a check right now or else. Well all my neighbors could hear her and were looking and I was so embarrassed. I got the check that I had already written out and when I handed it to her I wanted to explain and apologize. When I started to she reached inside my house and pulled the door shut on me. Like I said I have never been late with a payment before and I don't think she was justified in treating me like some dead beat who doesn't pay my bills for being two weeks late with one 45.00 water bill. Should I complain to her boss?

I have a friend whom I'll call "Shelby". She works in a law firm and, as a result, has to get dressed up. But the problem is, she insists on wearing dress clothes everywhere we go and for everything we do. Shelby and I had a Saturday lunch at McDonald's one day, and she came dressed to the hilt even after I asked her to please just wear something like jeans. Shelby didn't have to work that weekend, so it wasn't for lack of time to change her clothes, and she even had the nerve to suggest a wardrobe makeover for me! I was wearing a nice T-shirt, black denim jeans, and clean hiking boots, and to see her overdressed like that came across to me as arrogant. What should I do?

I know usually you should never use contractions in any formal writing, but I think it would seem a little less robotic and more humanizing if I let up a little bit on that.

Like for example, here's my first sentence:
"I'd like to start off by thanking you for considering me as a potential candidate for admission for the upcoming fall semester."

Will it be acceptable to use a few contractions here and there?

Am I worrying way too much about this? If I am it's just because I really, really want to get into this college. Being on the wait list is killing me!

I've been put on the wait list and I'm writing to them expressing my desire to go to the college, how it's my first choice, etc. but how should I address the admissions director? Should I use "Dear Ms. Freeman,"...? That seems so... awkward to me. What other words/phrases can I use?

I thought I was going to get beat down. And things like that happen to me many times. How do I deal with this should I say sorry to them.
