Why should you have to be discreet about it? Your baby's wellbeing is more important than anybodys prudish ideas about how it ought to be. If i was out with my family or friends i wouldn't want to leave them sitting for over an hour waiting while i breastfed my child, when i can sit at the same table and chat to them in a cafe.

My husband and I were having a bit of a debate last night and I need your help to solve it. What is the customary gift to give at a wedding? I of course think it dpends upon what you can afford, but standard I think would be $50 a person. He believes that it should be $100 per person. What is the standard, if any? Does it depend upon the relation of the newlyweds? And also,. what is the standard gift for a christening from grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc. Thanks in advance

I can't stand when people address me as "Honey". Why don't they just call me "Miss" or "Ma'am"? I am not their honey. I can't stand those people anyway!

Why do we think we have to tip? I work in the public sector and no-one, but no-one would think of tipping me. I am polite, helpful and accommodating, oh and underpaid but am happy with a thank you! Let's get a campaign going - please say thank you to someone who has been pleasant and has tried to their best. I have family who work in jobs where tips get given but their employers keep them. Don't let's go down the insidious route of the Americans with their 'tipping etiquette'

Friend "A" was devestated that Friend "B" was not only no-show (no pun intended), but also did not call in advance to say that she would not be there. The show was free and no tickets needed to be reserved. Should Friend "A" lighten up or is Friend "B" in need of etiquette training?

For the record, I am Friend "C" and think the whole thing is quite commical.

I am so fed up with the crap, In the beginning of my relationship with my fiance he got all pissy because I told him if you take out a glass rinse it out and put it in the drainboard its real simple, then things got progressively worse.
He never ever cooked for me, He leaves his crap all over. When I ask him to clean he gives me the excuse that he cant because of his condition with his leg, yet he can get his fat *** up to work and to do things he wants to do. I cook, I clean I chauffer his *** around and all I ask is that he helps me with house chores. Its like asking him to work with the devil. I did the ask nicely routine that dont work either. I heard all men are slobs from previous posts but they havent mentioned *the machismo crap* that I get. Men dont do dishes or do anything. BS go live with your mom then...Ugh I just need to vent help me!!!

We have a plumber over here today. It's going to take a long time. We are very hungry.

If he were anybody else, we would offer him lunch, but I think he might be charging by the hour, and who wants to pay somebody to eat lunch? But it's rude not to offer him lunch. This is why we aren't eating lunch today.

Would it be ok to have lunch? If we do should we feed him? I don't think it's fair to expect him to work without having lunch, but ...

What do you do about a co-worker that obviously cannot do her job (she's the only one in the company responsible for answering the phones), and she never gets written up for it, and even though management knows about it, and says things to her about the ongoing issues, never actually back any of it up with a write-up or actual DISCIPLINING of the co-worker. leading up to the point of her BRAGGING she ddnt get write up! So sick of everyone getting mass-memo's about her not doing her job, and they never do anything about it! Has anyone ever been in a situation like this? All the girls in the office are fed up, and even the president of the company doesnt like her.......Ughhhh.

My best friend(16) just broke up with her boyfriend(17) today because she says she loves me(16) more. I love her too, but I really dont want to be a dick. Her boyfriend punched a window and was crying all day. He took it Really badly. I really don't want him hurt anymore than he already is, because he is a really nice guy, but I do really like my best friend.

How long should I wait before I do anything with her? And how long before anything public (holding hands etc.)? Thanks.

For no specific reason... It annoys me like you wouldn't believe. I'm especially bothered when they want me to call to say goodnight. Good grief, I try to read a bit before I go to bed... Usually I want silence, not a boring conversation. Am I alone here? Or am I just a miserable person?
