I would say if you are by yourself, go ahead and do it, but then you should also be sensitive to the person you are talking to. (once I had a guy friend talking to me on the phone and I heard the water sound for a bit and the flushing sound. Believe me, I was a bit grossed out lol). If there are others around, I would be sensitive to them and not use the phone. Also depends on how urgent the call is. If it is not, it can always wait.

Probably not. I mean if the person can hear that you are in the bathroom (I am assuming you mean the toilet) then they might feel a bit strange about it. I guess if you are just talking to your partner and you think they won't care or something. But otherwise it is probably best not to. Plus imagine dropping the phone!

There should be no reason for human bodily functions to stop us from continuning our discussions and ideas. In fact, talking on the cell phone is okay not only in your bathroom, but public ones, as well as in the shower, tub, and even during sex. Don't let the physical world stop our technology!

It's general, it's rude to talk while your in the bathroom; including on the phone. If you're at work, it's inappropriate; and at home, the person whom you are speaking with will usually hear what is referred to as Chamber Echo, an echo caused by your voice bouncing off the tiles.

I say sure. Especially if no one is in there. Just hope someone doesnt walk in and think that you are talking to yourself.
Probably best bet though is not to answer it. You can always return the call when you leave. It should be just a few minutes later.

I object to fellow bathroom users being on the phone because I don't want my business broadcast!

no, it is not. because one time someone said to me in the bathroom:

hey how are you
I replied, good, how are you
they said "what are you up to tonight"
I said "not much, just hanging out with friends"
they said "alright well let's meet up later, I'll call you back"

turns out they were on their phone the whole time and not even talking to me. and here I am giving answers.

so no, please don't do that!

As long as they don't hear you flush.
No, really, I wouldn't do it if I could avoid it.
