I think that in this day and age that is how people dance -- while it should be monitered there really isn't anything you can do. As long as no one is having sex on the dance floor or making out even its not that bad!

Distasteful. Many schools are taking an approach of ejecting guilty parties from the event when this happens. I know there were cases in California where parents tried to sue, because their children got kicked out of a dance or suspended due to this behavior, even though their kid got multiple warnings, that were documented on video by the staff.
Keep the dirty dancing out of Proms. Don't encourage the kind of behavior during the prom, that (unfortunately)often takes place 'after' the prom.

ok...i am a teenager and go to dances where people do dance like this. personally i think that there is a big difference in types of dirty dancing. some people "dirty dance" but it is really toned down. but there are others(girls) who are grinding between two guys and sometimes two girls. that i just find disgusting. when i go i normally just dance(no dirty dancing) but when i do go, i can easily pick out the ones i'm disgusted with. but i'm going to prom this coming month, and the school it's at doesn't allow that sort of dancing(i guess the teachers will come up & tell them the put more space between eachother!) so all the adults out there should be happy now that there are schools out there that don't tolerate that kind of dancing

I think kids should save the dirty dancing for the after prom party.

I don't think it should be allowed. Children (and yes--if they're still in highschool, they are CHILDREN) shouldn't behave that way. It's funny to think back to when I was a teenager. I regret it now, but I lost my virginity at age 15. Back then I was so cool and I knew so much and was so romantic. Hah! When it comes to having sex, kids know nothing compared to what we learn as adults when we're in a monogomous, loving relationship.

Agreed - I dont want my tax dollar supporting school events where our kids can go and get each other off. Limitations need to be in place and enforced when these boundaries are crossed. Parental notification would be good. I'd like to be made aware if my kids were acting like this at their prom.

I don't think it is "disgusting" really. It is natural for teenagers to want to do that. Sex is not disgusting, and neither is dirty dancing. I think it looks pretty stupid though, and is not really "dancing". Doesn't matter if you stop them from dirty dancing, there is still going to be booze and sex later.

i dont see nothing wrong wit it. EVERYBODY dances like that. its like breathing at my school. if the chaperones wrote down names of people who danced dirty at prom at MY school, theyd have like 3000 names on that list. its completely normal! u must either a 60 year old grandma, or a 10 year old nerd.

I agree. It encourages improper behavior which is sexual in nature. It is not appropriate no matter the age in public places. "Dirty dancing" should be banned at least at School events.
