I mean besides telling them my name and i'm their neighbor what else should I say?

Okay there is this woman that I work with who only seems to be a complete ***** towards me and not anyone else. I have no idea why but it pisses me off. I don't want to cuss her out or anything because she is an older woman and I'm all for the respecting elders stuff. But I want to make sure she treats me with the same respect that she gives the other people at work. I don't want to come off as whiny or that I can't deal with nasty people. But I think that is very unnecessary coming from a coworker. I am trying very hard not to slap her.

I live in the basement 1/2 and the new neighbors will be moving upstairs. The last neighbors moved out because of the place. They could hear my alarm clock, I could hear what tv station they were listening too. My cold basment needs heat and sweats them out. My enterance doors echo in their place. And I am having a baby in a few months and my baby will most likely wake them up everynight as you can hear everything that happens... Should I tell the neighbors to aviod complaints against me? Because if they complian, then I have to complain to protect myself.. and I am in the same stressful situation as I was with the last neighbors....

Over the years, I have found that when I have given gifts for new homes, new babies, weddings, etc I have not received a thank you at all. Not a card, not a call, sometimes not even a comment. I am starting to become reluctant to attend any event regardless of who the invite comes from. Comments??

I'm sick and tired of stepping on gum or having to clean it up. Today, someone left a chewed piece of gum on our cordless telephone! Yuck!

So, why do people drop gum on the ground and leave it on things?

Why someone would borrow something from you and not bring it back?

My husband recently bought me a laptop, but I didn't asked for it. I thanked him for it anyway. It has been three weeks since and not a day go by without him reminding me of his generosity. Therefore, he asks for favors like getting him a glass of water, taking out the trash, finding him the remote, etc... When I refuse, he would say something like, "I bought you an expensive laptop and you can't even get me a glass of water?" What should I do the next time he does it again. Btw, I rarely use the laptop.

Man I am puzzled. They say "How ya doin" and before I have time to think says,"good, good" and move on to their real biz. The other day I was down with chronic bronchitis and said "cough, cough, not so ..." and the fella just said "good, good" and moved on. Why do people even ask? Do they have time to listen? Do they care if you are doing good or bad? What is the duty of a social individual to respond to such anti social queries. Should I respond like I really feel. "Well bro, life sucks, I have this cold and it wont go away ..... shut up and listen.... since yo asked ya little playa.... I got the chills ... cant go to the doc .... soup tastes terrible .... even my dog can smell my bad breath ... can ya help me feel better... "
Or should I just shrivel up like a cute magnolia and go " fine and u? " I think its a waste of time asking strangers how they doing, so why ask? Jus say hi and "Good Morning" , better still "Bad Morning" if the morning hasnt been good to ya n move
on?How bou u

the heater from my room to theirs before they close their doors and go to sleep, I don't want to wake them to get it back because I think that would be unreasonable and I respect their privacy. My question is: Are my siblings being rude by taking the heater that I paid for from my room on cold nights without asking so I miss out because I go to sleep later and have too much respect to wake them and get it back, I especially wouldn't want to wake the wrong one! (I'm shivering right now!)?

Eight years ago I agreed to be the godmother for my friend's only child and it's on the paper. I don't like the way my friend raise her daughter and the kid turned to be a brat, hyper, sometime sweet, but most of the time out of control.

Within the years my friend has two other kids and few months ago out of curiosity I was asking her who are their godparents. She said that siblings should not be separated after the parents death. Means, I'll be the one who take care all of them in case anything happen to the parents.

Fact is, I don't want to. All her children are hyper and out of control. I couldn't stand being around them more than two hours or I'm going nuts! We have spent holiday together abroad and I could tell how difficult they are. I can handle one, maybe, but not three ill mannered kids. I'd like to waive my rights and tell my friend she should ask someone else who are capable? I know I'm not. What should I do now?

I am neither trying to be judgemental nor condescending here. But I really am interested to know if there's a scientific reason to why certain people seem more... rude and obnoxious than others?

I just came home from a meeting this afternoon, where an executive stepped in 20 minutes late (he's rather high-ranked), and the following 2 hours were filled with his rants. He always over steps his boundaries and makes extremely crude and rude remarks. While the rest of us keeps quite during the whole time, we were silently exchaning glances at him.

Is there perhaps a reason than certain people in the society seem less 'in tune' with themselves? To a certain extent, it appears that they are unaware how they come across to others.

Perhaps there's an explanation in the subject of psychology? Or a scientific explanation, eg hormones or certain genes controlling tendency to erratic behaviours?

I am extremely interested in this phenomenon and would appreciate any comments/thoughts.

I got this medal a couple of years ago, maybe 11 years ago now for helping a dog have puppies. I wore it to the coffee shop and just sat there, but no one asked about it. Then I went to a library and mumbled "I don't think of myself as a hero" and then looked at people sideways to see if they would ask me about it.

How can I communicate this to people, and I want to seem like it doesn't matter? Also, can I get in the paper for something I did 11 years ago, help now!

I'm a teenager from the Philippines and my aunt (who lives in the States) asked me for a wishlist of things my sibs and I wanted since she's sending us a box of stuff. We're not that close, but I like her, and she's loaded with money. Not that I wanted to take advantage of her, but I asked for a digital camera, costing about $270. We're well off here in the Philippines, but gadgets are just waaay cheaper in the US. I emailed her about it, even offered to pay for part of it for etiquette's sake, but I just couldn't make up my mind on which camera to ask for. I emailed her about 3 times, sounding indecisive, then finally sent her my final choice of camera, the $270 one. She never replied, though. I was thinking, could she have been offended or found me too audacious? What would you guys have felt?
