Yes, it is disgusting that people are ignorant enough to believe that they are better than someone else because of the color of their skin or they are from another country. The U.S.A. was founded by people from different countries.

There is a component in the human brain which makes xenophobia an almost instant response. This component evolved to allow early humans to determine very quickly whether something was a threat. We share this trait with other primates.

We have the opportunity, being conscious, thinking primates, to adjust our opinion after the initial "sorting" has been done. The difficulty we face is connected to the tendency we humans have to gather with people who are like ourselves and remain suspicious of outsiders.

As we interact more and more with people of different races and nationalities the initial "fight or flight" response is quieted. The desegregation of school in the 1960's was a good beginning, but we still have a long way to go.

We must each remain aware of our responses to people, and be able to rise above xenophobia. Each of us is the way to all of us.

I'm curious how you deal with it daily. I don't see it daily. In fact, I rarely encounter racism directly. Now, the more subtle stuff I have to guess at, and even then, I don't have any substantial proof that the subtle stuff is motivated by racism. I could be misinterpreting the situation.

What I encounter every day is discrimination. I get discriminated against for several reasons, mostly because I'm fat. And that's what I spend most of my time fighting. But everyone gets discriminated against for one reason or another. As soon as we realize and accept that, we can learn to accept differences or accept that we have biases that make us judge a little too quickly.

You can talk to your manager/boss, have all your co workers gather for a meeting regarding this matter, create a store/company policy that does not allow racist comments of any kind from your (co.) end, make the public aware of this new policy (this might bring in more business), if a co worker does not Honor this policy, he/she are subject to dismissal. this is a very legitimate policy, and you can take it even further and see who else might be interested in this kind of policy. maybe one day will finally get rid of this very shallow phenomenon.

As long as ignorant and uneducated people exist, sadly racism will exist I'm afraid.

why did non moslem african countries never develope a written language ?

why do countries like chad, ethiopia, niger, congo, uganda, sierra lione, ivory coast, ghana, liberia, zimbabwe, and countless other african nations use machetes to cut the breasts off of women and the hands off of children to maintain a brutal dictatorial regime ? and they commonly believe that having sex with a virgin will cure aids ?

I always hold on to this saying..."You can't please everybody"
God has designed different races and yet we are all alike and have the same needs.
