My grandma passed away, whom I was not particularly close with, although my dad wishes I was. Now, my questions is, is it rude for me not to attend the funeral, even though I am 6 flying hours away. I get the feeling my family is trying to make me feel guilty, but I don't know what to do. I want to support my dad during this time, but I can't make it to the funeral for financial reasons.

I'll will be going on a company sponsored recreational trip to a beach resort this May. Me and my co-workers and their families will be hanging out around the resort pool and beach. I know speedos (bikini and briefs) are out as would even a square-cut or short-short trunks (70's style). How do any of you believe jammers would be received? Or should I avoid getting in the water and just forget about swimming altogether since I hate trying to swim in long baggy trousers?
And just in case some of you don't know, jammers are nylon-lycra swim trunks with a 8 to 12 inch inseam but not baggy. Kind of like a longer style squarecut speedo suit.

Why is it that when it comes to wondering why we have war, and why we can't just talk it out we're called "childish". Is it so childish that we want to know why we can't settle things like we were raised too, that we can solve things in better way than starting a resource wasting, person killing, time enduring war? If that's case, shouldn't we all just be a little childish? If this is somthing so big, so horrible that we can't talk it out or settle it without killing one another? The reason or answer may be too complicated to explain or answer, but I dought what I'm thinking should be deemed as childish. What's your opinion on all this?

My boss blows his own trumpet continuously at all times during the day. I shall furnish you with an example - (quote) "Ohhhh, I've done really well today and sold £xxxx worth of stock" and "The company would go down the pan if it wasn't for me here" etc. How can i diminish this trumpet blowing? I certainly wouldn't blow his trumpet, so maybe that's why he has to do it himself lol. It is very irritating though. I try to rubber ear him but it gets on my wick, especially first thing on a monday morning. Any suggestions?

I bought a new scanner yesterday(my old one had broke). My friend wanted some of the photos i had(i went to school with this friend). And these were some funny photos from "back in the day". My mom came up to me and goes "why are you scanning so many pictures for?" I told her for Facebook...and i know all my friends on my facebook. and you can't see anyone's page unless you are friends....and you can see pictures if i add them to the same group....and such..

anyways...does she have the right to get on my case? There isn't a creap that is going to see these.

...........in the human race worth saving? When you need their help, they like to intimidate you and crack jokes about it not being your system, but something wrong with the user? (I found a trojan in our corporate system that was making my computer crash, and he would just laugh it off and crack rude jokes at me.)I mean, do they not want us to come to them for their expert opinion? Do they want all of us to go out and get our own IT training out of exasperation and put them out of a job because they're too special to be bothered with the likes of us?

If I am writing to a pen pal I don't want to just say "My name is ______, I am _____ years old and ....." so forth.

I still need to provide that information, I just want to do it in a stale, boring way.

I only write emails when I have to, and I think I do pretty good job of doing that but this time I want to do letter writing ("snail mail)

It's seems like letter writing is a little harder. It seems hard to conversational without writing like that, I want to include the information but in a not so boring way.

Any advice? Or anything at all? Thank you.

I am the Maid of Honor in my sisters wedding. I understand that it is my duty to purchase my dress. She wants to take a two day trip and rent 2 rooms and rent a van and stay at a nice hotel to look for a dress for me and 3 other bridal party members. Is it her job to pay for the trip, or do we all have to chip in?

I think animals are more important then people. I think that people can help themselves, so I never give to people charities. Only animal charities. Plus, I give myself too many projects to handle so my room is always messy. I like guys but none of them like me because I guess I'm a slob. Also I can get depressed. Is anyone out there like me? In your notes tell me if you are like me.

i bought a toy place house for my kids off the local internet garage sale. when i arrived to pick it up it was taken apart, so i couldn't get a good look at it. when i got home and starting assembling it, i noticed that not only was in broken in many different places, but that it was disgustingly dirty. one of the shutters had been ripped of, the other had been chewed up by a dog. the play phones reciever was ripped off by the chord. there was a play fireplace with an image of a log fire that had been torn off the wall. the door was broken at the top and it hangs by a thread. the table was scratched up and had dirt caked in the scratches. the roof was torn and sagging in the middle. the darn thing was covered in mold too, all over. i pressure washed it with soap and it's still gross. the lady that sold it to me mentioned nothing of these defects. i'm not very happy, at all! what is the proper way to talk to her about this? i want my money back! any advice is appreciated! thank you!
