I'll will be going on a company sponsored recreational trip to a beach resort this May. Me and my co-workers and their families will be hanging out around the resort pool and beach. I know speedos (bikini and briefs) are out as would even a square-cut or short-short trunks (70's style). How do any of you believe jammers would be received? Or should I avoid getting in the water and just forget about swimming altogether since I hate trying to swim in long baggy trousers?
And just in case some of you don't know, jammers are nylon-lycra swim trunks with a 8 to 12 inch inseam but not baggy. Kind of like a longer style squarecut speedo suit.

I guess want I want is opinions of how wearing jammers will be received and viewed by others, not personal opinions. Normally I would prefer to wear a brief style swimsuit but in American culture the "shock" value would be too much. Would jammers, though not the "norm", would it cause the same or near the same as wearing a briefer no legged swimsuit?

I think they would be okay, just as long as you remember that there will be families with kids present.
Some men can get away with them, but only you know what your...ermmm.. fit is.

A lot of men's bathers come with an inside fitted bit, that kind of keeps everything in it's place and tucked away, so do the jammers have something like that ?

Just don't give up on swimming, if that's what you want to do.
Maybe wear the jammers for actually going in the pool or water, and a pair of shorts when just laying around ?

I've got to give you credit for thinking this through - as a lot of men just let it "all hang out" without taking others into consideration.

I hope this helps... and have a good time !

So long as you aren't sporting a 'banana hammock' I'd say anything goes :) Most of the men I know wear 'swim shorts'.. they aren't long or baggy but are more like regular shorts with a panty-like liner that hold the jewels in place.

Wear whatever you feel comfortable wearing. Just make sure that whatever type of swimsuit you use, it doesn't outline or emphasize "down there" deals.
