One time, when I was sitting watching a movie, a lady snarled at some teenage boys who kept talking and making noise.

Years ago, I went to a Broadway show with a group of friends. We got our tickets late and the seats were horrible. We were so far back in the sold out theater there were only two or three rows behind us. In front of us was a group of eight who must have been reviewing the show because they were constantly making comments about the jokes, songs, dance moves, etc. Their butting heads wasn't an issue because of the stadium style seating but the constant chattering was unbearable. At one point (of silence) late in the first act, I leaned forward with my head in line with two of the yackers. When he started to lean toward the man next to him to say something, he practically kissed my cheek. He was so surprised, he screamed like a little girl.

The people behind us (who were also bothered by the noise) were laughing hysterically and patting my back when I sat back. It was the only time I was ever applauded on Broadway.

We didn't hear another word from them for the remainder of the show.

Not yet, but I don't go to the theaters because they are too expensive even for food, can't rewind or pause the movie while going to bathroom, too loud, seats are uncomfortable, sticky and garbage floors from previous movie goers, and so forth. That is why I rent DVDs so I don't have to worry about those things plus I can drink beer if I want since they don't serve any kind of alcohol. Yet, it would be annoying to have people talking in the movie theaters while trying to watch a movie.

No, but I have told on them to the movie shushers with the flash lights. It was a childish thing to do, but the shushers came in twice, and in the middle of the movie, they had to stop the movie, turn on the lights and kick them out. Oh and we all got free tickets to a movie the next day. It was awesome. Those kids were really obnoxious though.

Sometimes I yell at them to shut up or I go complain to someone who is working. What gets me is the people who talk on their cell phones during the movie-that really irks me. In that situation, I very loudly say how rude it is that people talk on their phone during a movie-that has actually worked for me, but when it doesn't I say something to someone who is working...people can just be so inconsiderate sometimes...they need to pay attention to their surroundings!

One time there were some kids up front of me who would NOT shut up, they'd seen the movie a million times and every 2 seconds it was "Ok so now is where they're gonna..." and they'd say what was about to happen. Finally, I leaned over and said "Ok so now is where I'm gonna snap your neck like a chicken if you don't shut up."

They shut up and that right quick, heh.

I like to keep my 10 shot paintball pistol in my coat pocket, (big inside pocket) then I sit in the back and target practice with the back of the rude kids heads,

I wish I had a way to sneak in the paintball marker in the summer

yep. I generally only tut at them though and give them a stare. If it is a theatre or watching opera and they are talking I always prod them and tell them to shut it.
Often people (especially in N.Z) are quite quiet and just deal with a person talking but, hell, i've paid good money to see a movie/play/opera, not to hear them talk and come in late.

I hardly ever go to the movies, but when I do I hardly ever encounter the loud movie-watcher. But I doubt I'd ever say anything. I'd most likely let someone else handle it.

yes I have. Where I live there are many prepubescent and teenage boys who like to think they are "ghetto" and like to draw attention to themselves by running around and shouting in the movies. I have told people like that many times to be quiet and I've witnessed people yell at them.
