I want to know how a woman can drive, talk on the phone and put on mascara without loosing control of the car?

I applied for a job at a call centre for the government. They called me in to do the written test (along with a group of people). Then, the following week, I was tested orally (mostly to test if I was bilingual-I live in Canada). It's been a week now, and I'm anxiously awaiting a call. There's no number to call them, so I can't do that. The woman who interviewed me said that she didn't know when/if I was going to be called, because she's not the one doing the hiring.
When do you stop waiting? Is a week to soon to lose hope?

Our neighbord (below us) at an apartment are loud every night.
My boyfriend and I live together and it is MAJORLY affecting our quality of life. We have complained to the management numerous times and they send letters (so they claim) and they claim to call them to remind them as well -- Whatever they are doing or not doing this guy YELLS and TALKS ALL NIGHT - NONSTOP -- I mean it sounds like he is giving a speech!
People have told me to gently ask them to be respectful, but if I open a conversation with this guy -- it will get bloody - frankly I am going insane -- I am ready to check myself in to an asylum.
Oh yeah - and the best part? there are no "noise" rules here --
Just a clause in the lease where it states - "Everyone is entitled to the peaceful enjoyment of their apartment"
Please help.

Is your answer:
1.) "No. I don't even want to know what's in there."
2.) "Probably not, but I'd be temted."
3.) "Most likely---if I knew I wouldn't get caught."

This is kind of a delicate subject here, and I like to be polite. After receiving someone's picture who I am chatting with, (that I don't like) how to end the conversation nicely. Do I say no thank you? I wouldn't want to hurt anyone's feelings but I don't want to talk to someone I don't think is attractive. Please tell me what you do--

How do you cope when someone close to you is a wind up merchent. I try not to react and give him satisfaction but it is very hard and I get down over it. I prefer open and honest converation and do not like to upset people just for the fun of it.

I was shopping at Wal-Mart and when I got the register, the cashier did not notice the microwave oven I was purchasing in the carriage. She did not ring it up & I did not say anything. The buzzer never went off as I walked out so I figured it was nice freebee. Problem is, this damn microwave does not work!!!!! Am I considered a customer since it was not rung up? How do I go about getting a refund?

My manager is leaving and I'd like to buy him a nice gift. I don't want to spend more than $50. A few facts about him: he's 42 years old, has a girlfriend (so nothing she'll wonder about) and he smokes. Thanks!

I was at the grocery store today and I felt bad for someone whom I didn't even know, but I could tell they didn't have very much money.

I remember being poor and I would have maybe a dollar and eight cents and I had to find a way to buy enough food to last me for 2 days. And now when I see someone else like that I get so sad.

Am I being too sensitive?

I was at the park and there was a couple walking through with their tiny little chihuahua, just walking along, and some militant mom with her 48 kids on the swings yelled at the couple and said "Your dog should be on a leash."

So I said "Your kids should be on a leash."

And she went ballistic. She grabbed two of her kids and ran towards me and told me I was a "crazy f***" to say that. She shouted it actually.

So I said "You shouldn't swear in front of your children."

And that's when she got REALLY angry.

I just walked away.

I felt kind of bad, because she took it so hard. Was I wrong to say that?

I have a very close relationship with my Dad and it's a great picture of us during the "Father/Daughter" dance, but since I'm divorced 3 years now, I'm not sure if it's appropriate to display in my home. I have a decent relationship with my ex, and we have a 9 year old son that we share custody with. I just wonder if guests visiting my home might think it's inappropriate to have a picture of me in my wedding attire on display for the world to see.

I will be visiting the Royal Automobile Club in London soon. I have visited the dress code section at their website, but it seems that the level of formality changes based on what event you are attending within the Club. I have a formal outfit already, but in case it's a less formal event that I will be going to, I will need to have a "smart casual attire" outfit ready. I don't really know what this means; i have looked it up on google and wikipedia but I would much prefer to hear specific advice from a real person.

I'm 5'5, 32B, pretty slender, very small waist, fair skin, lightish blue eyes, darkish brown mid-back length hair. I would LOVE to hear recommendations for "smart casual attire" outfits for me! thanks so, so, much! I'm going shopping soon and the only mall I have access to is the Pheasant Lane Mall in Nashua, NH - you can look it up if you want. it only has department stores and chain stores, and nothing really nice. so that's what i have to work with! thanks all so much!

Ok, so I work in a very small law office. I'm the receptionist. The Lawyer's daughter is doing "Jump Rope for Heart" to raise money for the American Heart Association. So being nice, but being poor, I donate $5 in cash. I see on the envelope that it says to convert any cash to a check. Seeing that I don't want to write a $5 check, and am only allowed to write 10 checks a month without getting charged on my student account, I just put in a $5 bill, figuring that if others put in cash, that the parent of the child's fundraiser will take the cash, and write a check for the amount of the cash, thus CONVERTING THE CASH TO CHECK. So I go away to lunch, and find the envelope on my desk when I return with a note on it from our cocky case administrator who has a real problem with women in authority that has the $5 bill pulled out, and a note about how we're supposed to write a check. WTF?!?! It's not his place to say, and it seems like he's doing that "I want to make you feel small"
