If they're fishing for compliments, they might as well tell themselves that if they just want to feel good about themselves.
Also, is it ever "appropriate" to tell a "white" lie?

Sometimes i do not get why people don't show appreciation like some instances you let someone over while you driving when it was your right away they don't even show common courtesy, also holding the door for some people it does not take much effort to say thank you

but i have kinda learned is that you do things from your heart and should not expect anything

I have learned to also not do anything unless i have too or asked

What is the best to deal with these rude people ?

but he still wants me to talk to me, know he wants me to tutor him. I Do Not like him at all, in fact he cryps me out. The worst part is that he told me from the begining he had been following me around (College) How can I get rid of him for good. Because he sort kept his distance for some time, but now he' Back. For Valentine's Day my boyfriend bought me a gold chain with a beautiful heart pendant with lots of diamonds. It is from a good jeweler and looks expensive. The problem is, all my other jewelry is either white gold or silver and this is yellow gold. Even the engagement ring he got me was white gold with diamonds. Am I being too petty? I already hurt his feelings by asking if I could exchange it for white gold and he said they didn't ave one in that color and he looked very sad or disappointed. I told him I appreciate it vey much and it is beautiful but I just don't care for yellow gold jewelry. What should I do now to make things better? I feel terrible.

Should I ...

A. Wear the necklace even though it doesn't match all my other jewelry.
B. Return it for something I really want.
C. Say I love it but hardly ever wear it.
D. Buy other yellow gold accessories to go with the necklace, so I can wear it and all my jewelry will match.

Any advice is welcome... thanks!

I have a funeral to attend this week for a close friend's child. Would it be completely inappropriate for me to wear a pair of black dress pants (they have a tiny red pin stripe in them) with a nice red sweater? Are black/navy blue/dark brown the only acceptable choices? I don't want to be disrespectful to the family.

Mine are : litterbugs, mean people, bad/pokey drivers, people that don't take care of their teeth (rotten teeth/bad breath), people that have a bad sense of fashion (don't match/don't care), people who smell like smoke, people that smell like they don't wear deodorant.

We have a young infant, so we frequently use their service instead of sitting down to a meal. We're not really being "waited on," so do we tip? If so, is it the same tip that we'd give a sit-down waiter inside?

My inclination is to give $1 or so for bringing it out to the car, but I wouldn't tip the full amount (well, I did once when it was snowing and the wind chill was miserable, but that's different).
