My mother and I recently brought tickets to a exclusive Ralph Lauren fashion show that's in March does anyone have any advice on how to dress for the event without being over the top?

You will never go wrong with a little black dress. Look for some sort of embellishment or something to make the dress stand out, but be careful it is easy to go from elegant to gaudy without realizing it. Be aware of how much cleavage and leg you show, more is not always sexier. Simple shoes with a skinny heel but not stilettos, You can be a little funky with a colored beaded bag, red would be pretty cool. A up sweep hairdo and a simple necklace perhaps with some red in it. I would have your hair done by a stylist. Remember to cross your ankles to the side and not at the knees like we were taught. Have fun.

I would wear a nice ralph lauren skirt, some pumps and a matching ralph lauren top

Wear Ralph Lauren if you can. It's polite to wear the designers work to his own show.

You should dress like you would if you were going to a wedding, or a fancy restaurant. In good taste, not too casual, definitely dressy, but not flashy.
