This is kind of a delicate subject here, and I like to be polite. After receiving someone's picture who I am chatting with, (that I don't like) how to end the conversation nicely. Do I say no thank you? I wouldn't want to hurt anyone's feelings but I don't want to talk to someone I don't think is attractive. Please tell me what you do--

Wow- I can't believe all the hostile responses to this harmless question! If non of those who have answered nastily, most men who IM you say hello and then send a pic. What I wanted to know is how to end the conversation at this point, if I am not attracted to them. Not after chatting for days then finally finding out what they look like! It has nothing to do with me being conceited or high on myself, to those who thought that, do YOU go out with every guy who approaches you no matter what since he may be a wonderful person?? Come on, this is ONLINE. You can turn down people if you want to.

Most people respect straight-forwardness, and would prefer to just have someone tell them that they're not interested. Besides, unless you have disclosed your address and such..you can be as honest as you would like considering you have security knowing the only thing between you both is an IM box. So, go ahead..just be honest..it's better than leaving them hanging, and hurting their feelings more.
If that's still a no go for you. You can always use the famous "brb, phone call" phrase...and of course make yourself invisible...lol. Your call. :)

Even if it's shallow or whatever people want to call it, you have the right to choose whoever you want to be friends with. Just remember maybe someday someone will stop being friends with you because you're not hot enough for him.
Anyway, just chat with him less and less. Like if he's chatting just answer with short replies. After a while you he will stop bugging you.

When men pose questions about discontinuing chat, friendship, etc. with a woman because of her looks, weight, etc. the male is automatically BASHED by several women in Q & A.
The man is called insensitive, SHALLOW, not worthy of having the said female, and barely worthy of drawing another breath.
Put the man on permanent block. Disappear from his cyber world so that he can move on. That is the simplest and requires no excuses, lies or insults from or to you.

It's fairly easy to just say, "Nice chatting with you, but I'm not interested in a relationship with you right now."
Or, if you'd like to be sneaky, tell them you have to go and then block them, so you look like you're never on. It's highly unlikely they'll Block-Check you or anything, so their feelings shouldn't be hurt.

If this person is interested in a relationship, you better just tell them. If this person is just wanting to be friends, and they just sent you the picture to let you know what they look like, don't say anything, just befriend them, I mean you can never have to many friends!

Wow, are you conceited!!! You don't want to talk to someone you don't think is attractive? What if they are the most interesting person you have ever met? You'd pass up talking to someone who could help you, or understand you, or just listen to you because you don't think they are attractive on IM?
Wait, are you using IM to find yourself a boyfriend? Don't you realize that people can send you any picture they want and say its them?
Whats next? if their bank account isn't big enough you won't talk to them or if their house didn't cost over a million dollars they aren't worth your time?
You need the double check your values and priorities and start to grow up

Wow sweetheart, you'd better be careful. Wouldn't want you to get dizzy and tumble off your high horse. You might get hurt, it seems like it might be quite a fall and then you'd be forced to mingle down here with us commoners.

Your chatting, who cares what the person looks like. If the photo is ofensive to you, cut off the chat. Its all pretty simple
