How do you cope when someone close to you is a wind up merchent. I try not to react and give him satisfaction but it is very hard and I get down over it. I prefer open and honest converation and do not like to upset people just for the fun of it.

I have a brother in law that does that and he says some crappy stuff to me everytime he sees me. But what he doesnt understand is i spent years as a prison guard and ive heard it all before. The key is to know that there wanting attention nd that they think they came get it by getting a rise out of you .So anyways i pick something out about them that i know they feel insecure about and it usually quiets them down.

I cope by not having people like that close to me. Friends who aggravate to aggravate are not friends.

Typically, I ignore 'em. If they get really annoying, it's okay to drag them around behind the shed and teach 'em some manners, though. (Just don't get caught.)
