My boyfriend is extra, extra large and tall, a big man, but very sweet and nice. But the looks and comments we get are rather cruel. I know your not suppose to worry about what others say, but it does get old. Please any suggestions would be helpful.

Today I tried talking to him but I felt like he avoided me. I didn't used to talk that much with him but he would joke around, I smile at him and say small things. I told someone he was cute looking when that person told him. Nothing else, I don't have a crush on him because my job is more important. But now he will avoid me, if he sees me he doesn't want to be in the same room as me. Whats wrong?

I have noticed lately that a lot of female sales people, or just some females will be very snotty to me, it's not just in one location, I have experianced it at a couple stores, and out in public in general. I was at Nordstroms the other day and the lady was really mean to me, then very nice to another girl. Male sales people always treat me with respect. I am a very sunny, happy person who always has a smile on her face and a good heart, so I don't get why I am treated like this, I don't get it at all, but I would like it to stop. What can I do? Why is this going on?

Should I get revenge by hiding her walking cane from her? Or should I rearrange her furniture when she is not at home? Come on, give me some ideas. She is only 50 years old but very crabby.

I just turned 21 last week so I do not know much about bar ettiquette in addition I never party much so I am always home or hanging at someone's house (I've only been to a club once). I was waiting to order my third drink and waited about 5 minutes to get noticed. The bar wasn't that busy and there were 3 servers behind the bar. I even saw one women come in and leave with a drink before me. Finally I see the servers standing idly and talking and one finally points out to the other that I have been waiting and I finally get served.
Was this because I didn't tip after every drink or because I looked younger and less fashionable than the other people? (The bar is joined with a bowling alley so I was wearing jeans and a tshirt). Or could it be a combination. Even if I don't think they should be rude.

A few months ago, my friends and I had a bridal shower for one of our friends. Anyways, I bought her a pair of novelty hand cuffs as part of her gifts and one of my ex-friends was making fun of me and asked, did you get it from the dollar store? And everyone laughed. The truth was that I did get it from the dollar store, but I didn't want to say it because I knew people would think I was cheap. That group of friends is pretty well off with money and I'm not. Was it rude of her to ask me that?

My grandmother always called everyone in person and thanked them for gifts because it was more personal than a piece of paper. My in-laws insist that a thank-you card is the only right way to thank someone. I feel a in person thank you or a phone call is nicer. Which is more approprate?

I have a college interview soon (I'm the applicant) and I'm meeting my interviewer at a coffee house. I was wondering if I should offer to buy coffee for him as well as myself, or if I should just buy coffee for myself. If he offers to buy coffee for me as well as himself, should I accept, or politely decline and pay for my own drink?

It seems that whenever a question pertaining to black folk is asked, the asker gets a violation. Even questions in proper text are getting axed. Is this a one way site?

but I really don't want to go. It's my husband's aunt. It's not that I didn't like her, I just don't want to be bothered with some of the people that are going to be there. I did offer to make some potato salad for the repass that will be at his Mom's house afterwards. Would it be proper for me just to do that and stay home?

Having worked as a waitress many years, it is always the Dreaded day of the week. 1. Because the majority of church people are extra rude, and 2. They are generally bad tippers.
Any insight?

My older sister just got a laptop and she spends all her time up in her room now. I want to borrow a game of hers for a science project, is it rude and inconsiderate to IM her. Also we don't really get along and I think if I IM her I could better put down my points for needing it without stumbling.

I mean especially guys who are grossly out of shape, but still insist on taking off their shirts in public?

Why is it that so many beer-bellied, loose skinned, C-cup, horrifically out of shape men insist on exposing the world to their horribly revolting bare torsos?

I know, no one is forced to KEEP looking, but it is nauseating for the brief moment that I catch a glimpse before I avert my eyes in abhorrent disgust.

Why can't we (yes, I'm a guy), out of shape or not, have at least a modicum of modesty, self-respect, and respect for others?

Would it kill these guys to wear at least a tank top or something?

Or, a backyard pool with a VERY high fence?

Is it just me?

The city of Oakland, here in California, recognized "ebonics" as an official language.

In other words, instead of English teachers TEACHING english, they rolled over and actually started speaking the street talk of their students instead.

As I recall, that lasted about one political millisecond, before the city leaders "smartened up".
