I mean especially guys who are grossly out of shape, but still insist on taking off their shirts in public?
Why is it that so many beer-bellied, loose skinned, C-cup, horrifically out of shape men insist on exposing the world to their horribly revolting bare torsos?
I know, no one is forced to KEEP looking, but it is nauseating for the brief moment that I catch a glimpse before I avert my eyes in abhorrent disgust.
Why can't we (yes, I'm a guy), out of shape or not, have at least a modicum of modesty, self-respect, and respect for others?
Would it kill these guys to wear at least a tank top or something?
Or, a backyard pool with a VERY high fence?
Is it just me?

Agreed 100%.
Proper etiquette means not needless offending other people.
Voluntarily exposing others to a clearly offensive sight is rude.
There are ways to keep cool and at the same time enjoy the outside, whether it be the beach, pool, or other outdoor activity.
These sights are unnecessarily distasteful and offensive.

I totally agree with you there. It goes the same as with those triple-life-saver girls that wear either stretch blouses or let their bellies out just to show off their navel piercing. It grosses the hell out of me. They don't realize that isn't sexy at all. On the contrary, they're object for all kinds of nasty jokes and rude mockery. If I know I'm that disgusting, I try to wear something that will go well with my anatomy. There's plenty of flattering fashions for all body types, no matter how heavy or thin people are. So why insisting in using the one that doesn't fit them? Oh, and a C-cup man is just the grossest thing I've ever seen.

Well it depends on the situation. If it's in a beach, well let them be! What do you expect them to wear: a jacket?! That would be so uncomfortable!
But if we're talking about public places like in church, at the mall, or at parties, then that's when things are um, how do I say it? UGLY. Aside from the issue of modesty, seeing shirtless men in such places would be inappropriate (no matter how built their ab muscles are nor how flabby their big bellies would bounce up and down) because it is a matter of decency and public image. They ought to respect that other people can see them so they ought to comply with the standards of society.

I disagree. Not everyone looks pretty but that doesn't mean they shouldn't be comfortable. If someone likes to go shirtless that's their right, and what they look like doesn't matter. What if they're wearing a really awful shirt, with clashing colors? What if they're wearing a shirt but got big globs of that greasy gel in their hair as comes in fashion every now and then? Should we have a fashion police? I may not like everything people wear or don't wear, but I will defend their *right* to wear it even if I personally dislike their choice!

Ugh...you think that's bad...you should see some of these truck drivers....nasty! Sometimes...their pants don't fit....and you get mooned!!! *shudders* almost enough to make you blind!! Oh and what these truckstop resteraunts consider wearing shirts is apalling. These fat hairy sweaty guys in tank tops and wife beaters. Their pants hanging off of them...showing the world they shoulda been a plumber...ugh. Oh and I think, as some comedians say...there should be an application process before any man can wear a speedo...so nasty!

hahaha this answer had me laughing. you wrote it perfectly. i am a girl and i can't even stand when guys take their shirts off and they are built nice because it seems all guys love to show off their body (fatty or not). but is it completely disgusting when i see grown men walking around like they are 18 years old again, wearing nothing but high socks, sneakers, and some tight shorts. and you really can't help but throw up a little in your mouth. it's hard to look away at something so repulsing. i wish these older guys would realize that if they are married, their wife is the only one who finds them attractive (if we can even guarantee that).

If it's at someone's own back or front yard, I really have no right to ask the guy to put on a shirt. If he does this in public areas, then I think I would feel uncomfortable.

Yes, it's just you. Don't look. We catch things out of the corners of our eyes, and our brain makes the decision to either look or not. Pretty girl, or beer bellied man, makes no difference. It's a free country.
