I've been a server before and servers/bartenders remember the way people tip. In most states these types of occupations are paid below min wage and therefore rely heavily on tips. It might have been because you looked younger than everyone...it might have also been what you were wearing, especially if there were male bartenders.Maybe they all just had a bug up their a$$ about something. There's no way to be 100% certain. My best advice would be to dress to impress(at leat a dressy shirt and jeans), tip after every drink unless it's a running tab, and speak up.Regaurdless, it is the bartender's job to be pleasant and sociable and you shouldn't have been treated in that manner.

It could be many reasons. Honestly when you go up to a bar flag someone down. Obviously the 3 behind the bar where not doing there job since you said it was not busy. Don't be afraid to make yourself noticeable call out to them whatever. Did you happen to notice what the one women did when she got served before you? Did she flag down a bartender? It's very doubtful the way you were dressed made them ignore you because like you said its attached to a bowling alley so they expect people to be dressed in casual clothing.
And remember.. NEVER EVER Irritate someone who is going to serve you something you put into your mouth. I have heard horror stories of bartenders that saved special glasses for ignorant people. (my sister was a bartender while working through school). There is nothing wrong with flagging them down or out loud saying I would like "insert drink here". They work for tips so usually they will get to it quickly if they are not waiting on someone else.

You don't need to tip after each drink, just when you leave the bar. What you should have done is set your glass forward in front of you toward the inner edge of the bar. This is a signal that you are empty and awaiting service.

It could have been terrible service. It also could have been that the servers thought that you were simply hanging out around the bar. Make your intentions known, and be polite. If it happens again, find a new bar. You don't want to give that place your money if this is simply the way they behave.
Happy Birthday!

You should really tip after every drink. At least a dollar for every drink ordered. I would tip big the first round so that the bartender priortizes you. The other thing is have your money in your hand so that the bartender sees you are prepared to buy your drink.

You need to speak up at the bar, most of them are loud and the servers are engaged in conversation with other patrons. It is easy for a quiet person to go unnoticed at the bar.

In bars, you have to be more aggressive to get served. Make eye contact with the bartender. And unfortunately, you do need to tip well to get treated with courtesy.

the loudest person gets the drinks. You just have to be more vocal. The reason they didnt tend you first is not important. You have money to pay so they should serve you. Make sure you are heard and you will get your drink. Have fun!

You have to make it very obvious that you want a drink or they assume you are just hanging out at the bar.

My hamster does an same component, even although she's in a huge cage with a collection of chews. It coul be out of bordem or habit. you may make hand-crafted toys for him to keep her busy and conceal healthy treats in it.
