If you're not going anywhere and no one is coming over, why would you? I believe ettiquette is about how we interact with people, if there are no other people around then it's not really in effect is it.... do you have friends who come over without calling ahead? Do your neighbors look right into the livingroom? One of my neighbors liks to walk around naked in the house but they have a big picture window out front, I personally don't care about nudity -for all I care it'd be legallized in the street, it doesn't turn me off or on, not do I believe non-sexual nudity is harmful to children- but some of the other people in the street have complained about that!
In case of fire or another emergency I'd have other things to worry about besides ettiquette -like if my cats were safe, if all my pictures & other keepsakes were gone, where I'd sleep at night- and being 'properly dressed' would be very low on my list.... but if you do care then make sure you have at least some proper clothes at a place near the door where you can always grab them. But I'd go for my cats & picture albums instead & I'm sure my neighbors would have a blanket or an old sweater I could borrow!

Okay, technically, yeah. But what is dressed? If it's passed 9 am you should be wearing something that wouldn't embarrass you if someone you liked came to the door. You don't have to get all dressed up, but something you would wear during the day. Yes, etiquette was a good place to put this. So if you usually wear jeans during the day, you should put them on after breakfast at least. If you wear sweats or leisure wear, put on the ones that don't look like pjs sometime in the a.m. But it depends on who you are and what matters to you and the people you like. Sometimes being oneself is better manners because it's more honest. And it certainly isn't right to judge others for being different. They may have a good reason for wearing the same thing around the house during the day that they wore to bed. But if this is just for you and you have enough clothes. Yes, get dressed. You never know who will be stopping by.

I'd say no you don't have to. But I do get dressed. I always have someone dropping by to purchase cleanser, mascarra or lipstick(I sell Mary Kay). So I try to have a "fresh face". (Not dinner party face) and wear something comfy that would be ok to go pick up the dry cleaning in. I once dropped the kid off at school and had a mother follow me home for a moisturizer, I was in PJ's. NICE!

Ask yourself these questions ...
Do you mind if someone sees you in your PJs?
Would you feel uncomfortable if someone came to the door and you weren't properly dressed?
Could you get dressed quickly if you had to leave the house right away?
Do you think you look like a corpse without make-up on your face?
Then you can decide whether or not you want to get dressed.
Personally, I prefer to live in my PJs and never leave my house unless I absolutely have to!

It depends on what "dressed" means. I personally find that I feel better when I take a shower and put some clothes on, even if I don't plan to go out that day. I'm more productive at home when I do this. If I just mill around dirty in my pajamas all day, I don't feel like doing too much.

If you are not going anywhere and feel like going commando-I don't see why not. Unless, you are not comfortable with it. But, if you are talking about being dressed as in casual-why the hell would you? no one would see you, and it's best to jsut scrub, unless you are going out and want to look cute. I know some people who even at home, when no one else is around will dress casual...it is just their preference.

Well, there are those days when my pjs are just great from 7a.m 'till 3 p.m. but, obviously, sometimes I wake wanting to be dressed like a princess all day long, so it's up to you and your will getting dressed or not.

If I'm not going anywhere I feel I don't need to get dressed. I've been in my pjs all day long and don't plan on getting dressed unless I'm going somewhere important....

If you're at home then why do you need to get dress.
If you're out but no where to go then you could dress up if you want. Whatever you feel like doing.
