Hi. My husband's birthday is coming up and I'd lik to throw him a party. But, we are kinda new to our city and don't have a lot of friends. Small and intimate is getting old and I'd like it to be festive, loud and busy. He has a few casual friends and a handful of coworkers he likes. Is it ok for me to get the numbers out of his cell phone, or its that a privacy line that shouldn't be crossed? Or should I just hold off until we make more friends? Any advice? thanks!

i went to walmart this morning and bought almost 200 dollars worth of groceries...my cart was overflowing....anyways since my cart was so full it was not possible for me to look thru each bag and see that i had everything i paid for....so i asked the cashier if she gave me all my bags and she said yes....(i usually ask cuz they have that plastic bag carousel and sometimes they don't spin it around for you to get all your bags).....anyways i get home and i found she hadn't given me one of my bags and i had to go all the way back to get my stuff (which turned out to be a huge mess by the way)....and as i was leaving the cashier saw me and said "oh, you forgot your steaks" and i said "no...YOU did".....
of course i feel it was her mistake since i specifically asked about the bags.....
what do you think??

I was invited to a sweet 16 from this girl i don't realy know, the envelope and rsvp message was filled with ribons and stuff, and the party is at the marriot inn. Does anyone know how formal this type of thing is, should i wear a suit, or just a nice polo? And does anybody have any idea of a gift she might like (i need a girls opinion)? Thanks so much.

applying to transfer her real estate license to work with the broker that I work for. She keeps on losing the forms and coming back for more and standing at my desk and filling them out while asking the SAME questions over and over again. I have other things to do. I am about to go to lunch, that is why I have the time to type this. BUT, I am starting to question whether or not she is capable of even being an agent, she acts so bizarre. Stands here on her cell, talking so loud I can't hear my front desk calls and kind of acts like I am her own personal secretary. I have been polite to her so far, but eventually I am going to have to let her know she is in the way. What the heck am I going to do?

I visit a chinese restaurant now and then. It takes 45 minutes to get there. I don't eat out often, so it's somewhat of a treat. It's a buffet style restaurant. One of my favorites that they offer is crab legs.
Of course, that's usually the favorite of most of the patrons.
When we went to serve ourselves, the crablegs were empty. They don't replenish the pan very quickly, so you end up waiting about 15 minutes....
in the meantime, I was enjoying my meal.
I just happened to look over at a table with a couple that just entered the restaurant. (They had already hit the buffet). the man, had a pile of crablegs, no exaggerating...a foot and a half high on his plate.
I continued to wait my turn...as he had cleared the pan for himself.
I then saw that they were refilling the pan, so I walked up to get "my turn".
A woman was on the other side of the buffet....grabbing legs out of the pan as fast as she could. She stacked her plate a foot high.
I got 3 legs.
What is buffet etiquette?

Have you ever regretted not taking an opportunity because you didn't realise what it might be worth to you? Personal or financial.

When I was young I was slapped on the arm by my parent when I stared at this strange man sitting on the steps. I stared at him because he was strange looking. This is how I was taught that staring longer than you should is very rude.

Now here is my question...were you taught that it's rude to stare at people?

I am asking because whenever a disfigured (or something out of the ordinary) person comes into my view I do anything BUT stare because I want to treat them like a normal person...not to mention that it must make them feel bad when people stare....right?! THEN WHY DOES everybody else around me do. :( It's so mean. It makes me question if people are taught this at all?....

I am attempted to get a question answered.. but I dont believe I worded it right. I work in casual dining and often when I am serving a black family I am asked to bring them hot water to soak their silverware prior to their meal. I dont understand why hot water? Why not ask for another set, or a sanitizing wipe? I guess the only way I will find out if a person who does it answers me. I am not saying all black folks do it just the ones that do happen to do it happen to be black well. I am just intrigued by this and would like an explaination of the logic behind it.

For all of you on yahoo answers if you ask a question and you don't like the responses you get, why do you feel the need to report those who posted the answer? I have given some pretty accurate information in some of my answers and just because some guy doesn't like what i said he felt the need to report. C'mon people is this really neccessary?

Why do they look at me and ignore me? What are they thinking? "Oh, I dare not say 'hi' to a stranger. I just did the unthinkable." Dorks you are! Quit worrying about what people think all the time! It's insecurity. half the people don't think anyway. The same with the macho image. it's it's just insecurity. Why can't people just be themselves sometimes?

heard about are OK too. Mine could be when I went to the salon for a "trial run" the week before my wedding. I picked out a style and asked the stylist to do it exactly as I'd wear it on my wedding day. She was being paid, what was the big deal? Not only did she NOT do it that way and did some dumb little updo I didn't want, she actually showed up at my wedding! She was the guest of someone, but she never even mentioned she'd be there! I just saw her strolling by at the reception with a dumb smile on her face...Ugh...

I have around 80 people just in my family. So no matter what it'll be expensive. Add in that I kinda have expensive taste when it comes to my birthday parties, and you get where I'm going. Here's the list, just from what I've got so far, of what things will cost if I get all my first choices:

1. DJ - $395
2. Catering and Drinks: $30 per head for drinks, $13 per head for food = $43 per head x approx 100 people = $4,300 (!!!!!!)
3. Costume (It's a costume party): approx $30

So, all up, that's.... $4,725, just for three things. That's not including the decorations I know I'll insist on, the designer cake, invitations, booking the Hall, one of those giant keys people have at thier 21st birthdays...
