No I think that is a very pleasant greeting. Sometimes those four little words can turn my day around. Kindness should never piss anyone off.

I know, when a drive through restaurant attendant states this, I turn to my partner and say "don't have to if i don't want to."
I mean some days you just wake up ugly, you feel like crap, your not optimistic and people just get on your nerves. If your having one of those days the last thing you want to hear is "have a nice day."

Doesn't actually "piss me off" but it gets irritating especially if they are saying it in a sarcastic tone of voice.

No, what pisses me off is when people tell me what pisses them off.

No, even though I know they probably don't give a rat's tail whether I have a nice day or not.
You have a nice day!

No. To me it means that they care enough about you, To say something nice. They could as easily say go to h***.

I think if you're assuming it's superficial and you're letting superficiality get to you, sure, it can bug you. But if you're truly above being superficial, why care if someone else is? Relax.
