I was invited to a sweet 16 from this girl i don't realy know, the envelope and rsvp message was filled with ribons and stuff, and the party is at the marriot inn. Does anyone know how formal this type of thing is, should i wear a suit, or just a nice polo? And does anybody have any idea of a gift she might like (i need a girls opinion)? Thanks so much.

I would ask somebody else I know that got invited for whether it's formal or not. My guess is that it would be more formal than a nice polo. I'm not sure though.

As for what to get her...since you don't really know her....just give her some money.

It's always best to be over-dressed than under-dressed. If you can't find out before hand what the dress code is (she should have put it in the invitation, but sometimes people forget) you should probably wear a suit. If the party is less formal, you could remove the jacket and possibly your tie and be a bit more casual.

I think money is a good gift to give someone you don't know well. If you know of a store she likes to shop at, you could get her a gift card for that store instead of money.
