Let's say I am at a business meeting where food has been served and we are eating while we meet. Someone arrives late and offers to shake my hand. This seems very unsanitary and inconvenient for me if I have excuse myself to wash my hands again. Can I claim a a handshake exemption in this case?

There's this guy at my gym, he's actuaaly a trainer there, and my problem, is the fact that I don't know if he's flirting with me or not.For instance, around christmas, he came up to me and asked me how my holidays and I told him it was okay, then he asked me, who did I spend it with. And then there was another occasion where he came up to me and told me I looked sad, and wanted to see me smile, and as I was leaving asked me when will I be back.I'm thinking , well maybe he's just being friendly, but then he told me to call him on his cell phone, in which I did, and he told me that he would love to be my friend, even if he seen me outside of the gym, and told me that if I ever wanted to go to a movie or hang out, to hit him up, and then he invited me to his bible study class!

I know of poor winners, but what is the deal with poor losers? Last night i was talking to a friend and i had just gotten off of work, and he wanted the Patriots to win, and myself, the colts. All i said to him, after reading his away message on yahoo was "not New Engand's year this year". And he went off on me. Saying that NE is way better than the Colts and how they've won 3 of the last 6 super bowls and such. And that it didn't matter because NE will always be better.

Why are people such poor losers? I mean i didn't say anything to him...i mean i didn't brag about the colts going to the super bowl...

She is a very kind women and I do not want to be rude, but she does this constantly to the point where I actually see food fall from her mouth. This is a huge pet peeve of mine. I know people will say to sit else where, but this is a very small lunch room, one table only. Is there a nice way to bring this up to her or in a group discussion where she might get the point?

I'm not sure if it will just make things worse to start her day off with a reminder. On the other hand, I think it will be on her mind all day anyway and maybe I could cheer her up a bit. What do you think?

I cannot talk to her or look at her. I don't think I stare her down. Whats her problem? Is she discriminating me? I think so! I am part deaf. She is not. Freely talks to all, but not me. Sad situation. She is so unprofessional business wise to me.

I have a friend who is latin but does not speak latin, he understands alittle. I had him over to a friends house, where my friends speak both spanish and english. Of coarse, they start to speak in spanish and after 10min my non-spanish speaking friend excuses himself to go outside to talk on the phone. Later he explain that he feels uncomfortable in that situation.
Plus he didn't want me to tell my spanish speaking friends to speak english so that he could join the conversation. Is that not rude?

I read about a website once that will contact your coworker, friend, whoever and let them know if they had a body odor problem, bad breath, etc. It would do this anonymously and in a polite way. Does anyone know what it is?

When I was getting my hair cut this weekend, the stylist took me back over to rinse my hair. She asked me, "Would you mind if I gave you a Hot Towel?" I said, "Sure, as long as that's nothing like a Hot Carl."

Was I funny or rude?

I'll tell you her reaction after all the answers...

sometimes automated phone lines are unavoidable, but what really irritates me about them is when you're on hold forever and they play that music and intermittently a voice comes on to tell you "we value your business"....if they valued me so much then why do they put me on hold for ever and a day??

There is a co-worker who sits right accross from me and continusly is watching adult films. This is making me uncomfortable. He actually invites me to watch and he doesn't think that there is anything wrong with it. He tells me how it makes him relax and that we are all adults and that there is nothing wrong with what he is doing.
